Don't you listen to your heart? (Listen to it...)

I have to stop drinking. I was driving a few days ago and hit a curb. It popped my tire and I had to buy another one. The following day I call into work late because I'd passed out from drinking. This isn't the first time I've called in because of drinking or the first time I've passed out and almost been late for work. I also cracked the phone screen of a new phone my mom just got me. Just a small part of it but still. Drinking is so destructive and it's not going to help me reach any of my goals or dreams Honestly it'll just sabotage me and I'll be back on the streets instead of looking at purchasing a trailer. I can't afford to drink anymore...I can't let it continue to wreck and ruin my life any longer. The night is over and the day has come.

Would recommend using some other resources moderately- alcohol is sweet, but you get so fucked up sometimes (plus it's too expensive for my taste).

Keep in mind alcohol withdrawals from cold turkey can be deadly or give brain damage without medical attention.

I'm really glad you're trying to improve yourself. KillingPain is right - complete alcohol cessation can cause problems with an overabundance of neurotransmitters leading to deadly seizures. If you can afford it, seek professional medical advice. If not, do your best to research a plan from a credible source online (.org, .gov, .edu). Please keep us updated on your progress; we'd love to hear your success story!

Relapsed. Drinking right now. I don't know what to do. Looking for AA groups in my area. This is so sad. Like why do I drink? It's like I can't cope with reality. I think I'm going to try watching an anime. I'm going to try watching DanDaDan. It's about aliens and spirits and ghosts and stuff. I swear my life is like this alien nightmare. I just want this to be over with...

Hey I understand a lot. I've done the same thing and reached so many rock bottoms. You're searching for an answer and are frustrated that there isn't one, so you're drinking to help. If you have access to weed, that helps me a lot, despite making me super anxious. It makes me anxious enough that it reminds me of how much my body is hurting. You're only traumatizing yourself and your body more by drinking in excess and it will only make you want to drink more. The only ends to drinking excessively is death or prison, but you're reaching out so you know that you don't want to end up like that. You have to plan to drink, so instead, try writing why you feel that way, even if it's a sentence, and do whatever you can to distract yourself. It will feel like a chore, but so is handling yourself while hungover and the repercussions of that, such as getting a new job. I truly wish you the best because I know this is not easy. I had to force myself to live with my parents to get myself to stop.

You did the first step and you realized that you should stop drinking alcohol. I'm proud of you!

I hope you can find the strength and the help you need to be able to stop. All the best and good luck!
