Hi,
Just some questions
1) do you believe in when we die there's some sort of afterlife? If so what?
2) when people succeed in ending their life do you believe that they've gone to hell or heaven as some people consider suicide a crime.
3) And do you think we will see them again?

I wonder about the afterlife a lot too. I guess it's natural for people who are considering ending their life to also consider what happens afterwards too.

If I had to make one definitive guess, I'd say the "experience" of after life is the same as how we "experience" before life, that is to say, not at all. On one hand, that's reassuring, but on the other hand, I find it a bit sad. Personally, what I hope happens is that our souls are given a choice either to rest, or to reincarnate.

I don't believe in a traditional "heaven" or "hell". I figure if the universe is good and just, then I don't need to worry because I'm in good hands, and if the universe isn't just, there isn't any point in worrying because it won't change the outcome.

I think there are 3 possibilities:
1) The world is a simulation, and I'm the only human. I believe this because I can't actually get inside another person's head to verify. So that makes life pointless and I want to ctb, but then I realize that if the world is a simulation, what I do doesn't really matter, so I feel relaxed.
2) I'll be reincarnated. Because in physics you can't create and destroy energy and all that. This scares me, and is a big reason why I don't ctb, because what if I'm reincarnated into a way worse world than I am in now? And I'd have to go through all the pain of my childhood/young adulthood again.
3) I'll go into some other dimension, not in human form, but my energy will fuse with the universe somehow. I think that could happen to me if I've accomplished what I'm meant to on Earth, or if I get enlightened enough.

I definitely don't think you will go to hell for committing suicide. I do think there's a possibility you get reincarnated, and that you're less likely to move into another dimension because you haven't lived a full life in this one. But it's all speculation. Nobody knows for sure. I haven't CTB'd because I've identified the risks as outweighing the benefits.

(1) it's one of two things rebirth or nothing forever
(2) there is no hell or heaven
(3) once you die you're gone forever so no you'll never see each other again

No, I believe that any afterlife is just a fictional concept invented by people who were unable to come to terms with the true meaningless and insignificant nature of existence. I very strongly believe that life is just an unfortunate consequence of evolution where we are destined to completely cease existing with not even the awareness of the fact that we are dead. This is why I find so much comfort in the thought of being dead.

I just believe that a scientific death is the most likely, the atoms in your body might find their way into new life but the thing that actually makes you, you, the neurons in your brain are just gone, with their memories, with your personality, with your consciousness and I just believe it ends with that. We are nothing but extremely sophisticated chemical reactions, neural networks so complex that they can think about their existence itself.

It is just impossible to grasp the concept of consciousness, thinking about it makes me just too curious about all the whys, why this universe exists, why it has the rules it has, the rules of physics that allow all of this and life to happen. In the end we will probably never know, it is beyond our comprehension. But I just don't think theres anything above that, that makes life special and preserves our "souls", all the neurons will just break down and their electrical charges will dissipate.

1) Yes. Different for each person but common themes of bright light, euphoria, contact with advanced beings and life review are universal to genuine experiences.
2) Mostly positive, with some bad experiences due to people CTBing with harmful intentions for others, or with addiction issues. They can get stuck in an earthbound state and continue to cause trouble.
3) Yes.

The most recent suicide NDE on the NDERF website is a typical example of a positive experience.

Not to be disrespectful, just to discuss, don't you think it has to do with the chemicals the brain releases during death or near death experiences? Ketamine can replicate it to some degree and people have reported things just like that during trips.

All good! If this topic is of interest, extensive research covering all of these points has been compiled by a researcher named Kevin Williams.

What I can say is that human history over the past several centuries has tended to alternate between cultures of religious superstition and scientific materialism. Both perspectives make sense to the respective followers from the inside, but the tribal rivalry between them means that neither side is open to the perspective of the other. The result is incomplete.

Only when the most advanced scientific understandings (quantum field theory, advanced consciousness research, etc.) points to the same reality as the most essential spiritual understandings (nonduality) does a complete picture come together. However, that picture is so insanely radical that it defies commonsense notions we normally take for granted. Things like the world being objectively real, ourselves having an identity as individual people, ideas of mortality, us being separate from each other and so on.

Some psychedelic experiences entail similar themes to NDEs, involving losing a sense of individual self, being one with everything, euphoric love, etc. These cases are legitimate experiences, albeit temporary, because they tap into the underlying reality which is also accessed through NDEs, kensho spiritual awakening experiences, spontaneous mystical experiences, advanced states of meditation, etc.

To focus on the exclusively material aspects of physical brain activity in order to prove a reductionist/materialist world view is analogous to trying to prove a dream is real within the dream, or trying to prove a VR world is real without being open to removing the headset. An open mind is essential.

Yeah I basically agree with pluto. Psychedelics really peel back the veil. Especially 5-meo dmt. Think there's probably some sort of merging of soul back with god. God being the spirit that is behind all of us running multiple processes.

3) And do you think we will see them again?
1) No.
2) No.
3) No.

You can make all the scientific experiments you want and read all philosophic theories ever written but the truth is that we will just never know what happens to our conscience when we die. It is impossible to know (until we actually die, of course).

We never experienced anything without a living body, so the concept of "seeing" your dead parents again in the afterlife is really weird because you wouldn't have funcioning eyes. What I'm saying sounds pedantic, but it all comes down to this: it's really hard to imagine a world not experienced by our body.

The only thing I am inclined to believe is that when I die, my life, in this reality, will end. And I'm not even sure of that. Who knows...
