I've been wondering that too actually, I had a chance to shoot myself in the head a few times in my life. But this same thought actually stopped me. And all the horror stories I've heard.

I don't know nor can do the math but if the bullet travels into their brain faster than the sense of pain from the nerves does, then they will feel literally nothing. I remember hearing the pain response took about 100ms and I'm decently sure a bullet will pass through your brain faster than that, so...Similar threads
