if anxiety and fear are not constant, but are caused by certain triggers, then can some sedative or relaxing drugs like mushrooms, cannabis remove anxiety, fear when you meet a trigger?
Answer based on your experience please.

Try to remove or avoid the trigger. With your anxiety, mushroom and cannabis can easily bring you drug-induced serious mental illneses. Just avoid those hard drugs, if you want relief from anxiety using drugs your best shot is to go to your doctor and ask for a benzo.

Cannabis and shrooms are not sedatives, though weed can be relaxing sometimes and can temporarily relieve anxiety for some... psychedelics can resolve anxiety and trauma long term by helping reprocess bad memories, open new perspectives, etc. but results are not guaranteed, it still takes work, you can't just take the drug and be cured.

I have gotten over a lot of things I used to be afraid of through the use of ketamine. Still have a long way to go.

Just avoid those hard drugs, if you want relief from anxiety using drugs your best shot is to go to your doctor and ask for a benzo.
this is bad advice. As someone who's been dependent on benzos for nearly a decade I consider them a hard drug... benzos are addictive so they are not a good long-term fix. It's much better to find a way to address the trigger (possibly through drug use) than to treat the symptoms of being triggered with anxiolytics.

I agree with western_heart about benzos. They're pretty habit forming and I'd suggest not seeking them out.

When I experienced lots of anxiety a few years ago I resorted to cannabis to cool down when it was really bad. It temporarily helps but it's really not a good idea because I was avoiding the main cause of my anxiety and becoming reliant on cannabis. So eventually I had two problems to tackle, my dependence on weed and my anxiety.

I'm sorry you're feeling anxious and I understand that you want relief from it. The route that worked for me was getting professional help.

I've only ever found one strain of weed that relaxes me at all after trying about 40-50.

Benzos help me get through my triggers but they're still waiting on the other side. What I mean is I haven't exactly found improvement by enabling myself to do things while sedated that I can't do while sober.

Weed and Mushrooms wont exactly relax you in an anxiolytic way, I think a weed high is pleasurable but it doesn't take my fears away. Also mushrooms have a stimulating effect in the brain, not any sedating effect, and they are known to induce panic attacks in prone individuals, specially in the wrong setting so don't take shrooms before something scary. Something like a benzo, ketamine, or an opioid are all disinhibiting and anxiolytic, but also very addicting if you're self-medicating.

Ketamine would be my choice drug for these purposes, it is the least addicting and its anxiolytic and antidepressant effects are long lasting. Also, stimulants like Adderall and Dexedrine also take away my fears, which may sound strange, but don't think of stimulants like coffee, the Dopamine to Adrenaline ratio from stimulants like Adderall is a lot better than that of coffee, which is why coffee causes jitters but Adderall causes euphoria.

Regardless, self-medicating is a steep downhill road and could easily have you in rehab. But if you already had access to said drugs that's just my 2 cents.

Thank you. Didn't know what I need called anxiolytic medicine. It is supposed to dissolve fear, if I understood right what google said me about it. Can you please describe effect when using anxiolytic drugs like Ketamine/Benzo/Opioid ? Does it remove anxiety, fear when you meet a trigger?

Simplified example:
Would a person who has experienced traumatic events on the subway be able to stop experiencing fear, anxiety near the subway if he used anxiolytic drugs.
If so, will he be able in the future not to experience the mentioned emotions without the help of anxiolytic drugs?

An anxiolytic drug should help you stay calm in a stressful situation. It won't necessarily help you overcome the problem for next time, but it's possible it could help by exposing you to it in a safer way. I actually think benzos are great for getting through high leverage situations, but only if you can use them responsibly, since it will just cause you more problems if you become dependent on them. I personally love CBD because it helps with anxiety and clearing my brain, and there's no penalty for taking it all the time. It is individual what will work best for you.

If you want to process a specific trauma you may want to look into ketamine treatment or microdosing psychedelics as previously mentioned, since those things can help rewire your brain.

Yes. For example, without benzos I panic and often faint or get dizzy when I'm at the dentist or getting my blood drawn if not then I tend to hyperventilate, but if I'm on benzos I can have a conversation with the dentist or the lady that has a needle in my arm that would normally make me faint when I look at it.

Kind of like the limitless pill when it comes to phobias or things that normally scare you. At appropriate doses you aren't numb, it makes you react to things in a more appropriate, less neurotic way. Opioids and Ketamine also achieve the same results but Ketamine is too impairing to be out in public.

Like there is no need to be scared on a subway 99% of the time, neither should I be scared of my dentist, but the phobias are there for some odd reason. But benzos and opioids have the ability to dissolve those irrational fears, it's also what can make them so addicting. Tread very carefully.

@Proper Overdoser Well I wish I could remove forever fear/anxiety that caused by certain triggers (which were made by certain event). But from your experience with dentist I understood that's just temporary effect which is gone when you stop taking the med.
In my simplified example this person didn't have this fear caused by subway trigger until he survived subway disaster and it totally changed the way he perceives the subway.
For us it's just a subway, for him it's a place associated with traumatic memories.
So he can make it's easier with benzo for couple of hours, but he can't make it forever and will not be able to bring back the old way he perceived the subway, when it was just an underground cheap way of getting somewhere.

@NumbItAll Does CBD have some bad effect that other users mentioned about cannabis under my post? Like : "cannabis can easily bring you drug-induced serious mental illneses"
or other dude under another my post said
: "Cannabis, on the other hand, I have had some absolutely awful experiences with. It starts with a rush of euphoria, but it quickly turns sour. Most times I've used cannabis (smoking or edibles), I usually end up having intense panic attacks and really terrifying hallucinations. I have hallucinated someone hurting me while I was catatonic, bugs, animals, voices, etc. Needless to say, I was fearful of these situations, so if I were seeing real bugs while high, I would have the same reaction— Panic, cry, try to get away, etc."
It temporarily helps but it's really not a good idea because I was avoiding the main cause of my anxiety and becoming reliant on cannabis. So eventually I had two problems to tackle, my dependence on weed and my anxiety.
@manta I was thinking about using some medicine that could remove anxiety/fear which is based by triggers while approaching them.
In my simplified example dude with anxiety caused subway trigger (which was caused by some disaster he survived in subway) would use some med to remove fear, anxiety so he could perceive the subway the way he used to perceive it : just a public transport, not associated with traumatic memories

CBD has none of the psychedelic effects of cannabis, it is only mildly calming and sedating. Persaonally I have taken CBD oil and it's nice for anxiety or restlessness I think. It doesn't cause dependency.

Psychedelics can also really open your eyes to new possibilities and are great for gaining insights into your life.
Often times you'll end up wanting to install many new healthy habits like meditation, journaling, exercise, visualization, reading self-help books, etc.
Both will help with the negative symptoms you mentioned above, don't just see them as a magic pill, or sedative, this overlooks most of their potential.

First, be sure to do some education & research, maybe read medical studies of the benefits, and read some trip reports of your substances, good and bad ones.
Read about the chemical, the dosages, side effects, complications, how often to take it, and what to expect from it, so that you'll be least overwhelmed during the experience.
www.psychonautwiki.org

Studying & practicing principles of human psychology is crucial as well, most trip reports show that often people simply don't know how the mind works, and so most ppl end up using these incredible substances as an escape from inner demons and to find relief. Psychedelics open you to your subconscious mind, both your inner demons as well as your highest potential.
You might be surprised at where they take you if you let them show you how much you're loved, and you truly are, pinky-promise.

So look into studying things like happiness, anger, depression, addiction, the ego & the self-identity, self-deception, what thoughts are, and even nonduality and enlightenment.
This will build the foundation to ground your trips! Very important. In the beginning, you might use them just to prevent the worst, but later on, there's so much more waiting for you!
Setting up a daily meditation habit will definitely help tons with preventing bad trips.

Please trip in a safe setting, not at a party. Only take the substance by yourself at home when you're just starting off.
While tripping, don't get seduced by the phenomenon & emotions. See these phenomena as reflections of your own subconscious mind.
Don't take them too seriously, but most importantly, enjoy the ride! :)

After coming back down take time to integrate!
I.e. spend all of Saturday doing the trip, and at the end of Saturday night/Sunday spend most of that time relaxing and integrating all the lessons that you learned.
Sometimes a trip can be so powerful that you will need an entire next day to just sit and integrate and reflect on what it means for your life.
So journal about it and watch how your mind adjusts automatically over the course of the week after your trip.

And the week before you do any psychedelics, try unaddicting yourself from stimulation as much as possible. This lets you be honest with yourself about how you're using these substances. This in and of itself will be huge growth, and even if you stop taking psychedelics, you'll be like: "Oh look! It's so nice to be clean of bad food, bad TV, and bad other stuff." Huge!

Be careful with cross-tolerance, and wait at least 2 weeks, not more than once a week. This removes all the tolerance you built up after mushrooms or LSD for example.
This rule also makes sure that you aren't kidding yourself/only escaping from a shitty life. That's gonna be regressing you not growing.
You wanna be having the trip, come back to your everyday life, and then be in love with your everyday life more than ever before!

Start with small doses, avoid pills, take pure powdered form, don't use research chemicals too much, stick with the classic proven psychedelics that work, and use drug-testing kits on every badge of new substance that you have. (Magic Mushrooms/ Psilocybin, LSD, Ketamine, or DXM, DMT, Mescaline/Peyote, Ayahuasca, Iboga 2C-X Series)

Make sure you're in a good mood the day you're tripping! The substances will amplify your mood.

The day of, make sure that your life is put together as much as possible; clean your house, laundry, dishes. Don't have work the next day, a big project due or some important appointment pressuring you. Set aside the entire day, so you can prepare for it and don't have to be rushed with integrating. Also, hide dangerous objects in your house, kitchen knives, weapons, etc.
Tuck them away safely and stock your fridge with food and drinks so that you don't have to cook or go to the grocery store tripping. Have a vomit bucket near you!

Then set a serious trip intention. What do you want out of the trip? Make sure to surrender to the experience, but still set a strong intention.
Examples: depression, suicidal thoughts, psychological problems like fear around money, social anxiety, marriage problems, etc.
Insights can stay with you for life, the experience always passes.

Meditate prior to doing the trip!
For a nice calm state of mind, it'll slow your breathing, and your heart rate and allow you to focus on your intention more.
Then you can honestly say to yourself: "I've thought about this. I've planned it all out. My whole day is planned out. I've meditated. I know what I'm doing, I'm conscious.
I'm not using this as some escape, or to run away from a relationship that I don't want to be involved in right now."

Consume the substance on an empty stomach, don't rush the process, and have the whole day. Consuming around noon time is the best.

When you're starting to feel any fear or panic set in because you feel like you're going down some negative thought spiral...
Simply remind yourself:

- Always fully surrender to the experience
- The trip is going to pass!
- Relax the body. Open your whole body up! (Don't cross your legs or arms)
>>> your body can control what your thoughts are doing and the emotions you're feeling
- Start breathing steadily, calmly, slowly
- No wacky phenomena are "real"
(They're just visual or auditory sensations of thoughts in your mind)

**This is why it's really good to be an experienced meditator.

And lastly, again, do not mistake psychedelics as a shortcut only, they can be for a while, but primarily, use them as a catalyst for falling in love with life!
