@LoveMePlease , did you maybe hope to get caught and open a conversation? Think @RoseyBird is probably right and they likely didn't understand what you were browsing. Is there another person, maybe a school counselor you could share with?

It interesting to me that your professor told you to get back on assignment. I only ever had high school teachers say to get back on assignment. They are in that kind of power position.

The university environment is totally different, because the student is paying to be there. If they don't do their assignments, they fail and they lose their money. Assignments generally aren't done in class. Classes are either lectures or labs.

The assignment was taking notes for the lecture he did

I don't understand this now, what do you study?

Do you not have lectures in lecture theatres? How was the professor able to see what you were browsing, surely they were in-front of you presenting the lecture?

I just get more and more confused LoveMePlease:pfff:

they've got a magic shovel..........it just keeps digging

I'm genuinely curious. I can see being in high school and being in special needs classes, but in uni you're on your own unless you have assistance provided like a note taker. Uni isn't really a special needs environment for conditions that can cause social challenges or cognitive issues. It's an independent adult environment, not a hand-holding environment.

Wanting to end it isn't "stupid" it's your professor that's retarded. I'm sorry the people supposed to be teaching you have no empathy. But he is probably on the spectrum.

It was painfully obvious the entire time this person interacted with the forums that they definitely weren't the age they claimed to be. My guess is they were 14 or 15. Poor kid. Wonder what happened in his life that made him feel like he had to go at such a young age.

I mildly suspected he was a minor, and then strongly suspected, to the point of being all but certain, and I became so uncomfortable that he was seeking and receiving suicide advice.

I know there are some folks that are down with giving a young person suicide advice and I'm not going to argue with that if it comes up here, but I personally am very uncomfortable with it. I don't deny their ability to determine for themselves how they feel and what's best for them in their situations, but dammit I just don't want to deal with that in an adult environment, it adds a very heavy additonal layer of responsibility in what's already a heavy environment.

It's like an expat bar I used to hang out at in a third-world country; the owner let kids hang out and also let adults snort coke in the kitchen and sometimes the kids walked in on it, and of course there were folks drinking and some would get more harsh, even beligerent and, rarely, violent. I couldn't relax when the kids where there and enjoy my usual coffee or my occasional drink, I was always on alert to watch out for them because some of the drunk and high folks could act in ways that were allowed in that environment, and even some that weren't, and it put the kids in potential danger. One guy who could get really harsh did so with a 16-year-old girl who didn't yet have the capacity to stand up to that kind of bullshit.

The bar owner was a good friend and we had many arguments about how he loved the kids and wanted them around, and I kept saying to either make it a family environment or make it an adult environment, it wasn't possible to have both, and it was negative for everyone to mix the two yet have the adult environment be dominant. To me it's the same situation with the forum, and that's why I'm uncomfortable. We have to be gentler when it's a kid, they can't yet handle the rough-and-tumble that goes on here. It's like they come sit at the bar and one member says, "Yeah, kid, you can use a rope and tie it this way," and another says, "No, no, tell him about the SN. Here, I'll write the regimen on a napkin. No, kid, it's not regime or regiment, it's reg-i-men. It means a schedule or a program, like a weight-loss program. Only this is a life-loss program! Hahahahaha!" Slaps kid on back, hiccups, and forgets what they were talking about and moves on to another conversation.

Just no.

@LoveMePlease, if you're reading this, I get what it's like to be frustrated being young and being so close yet so far away from being and adult and having access to adult stuff. You're not ready for this enviroment, and I care enough about you to say so. I really wish you the best. If I had the capacity to be an adult in your life who makes things better, I would, as I have for other youth since my twenties (I'm 49 now), but those days have passed for me. I hope someone safe and wise notices you, steps up, and makes some kind of positive difference in your life, even if they can't save you, though you certainly deserve it. Everyone deserves it, it's just pretty rare in life. I sincerely wish for your well-being. This paragraph, and the ones expalining about the environment, are the most that it's appropriate for me to give you.

It was obvious from day one they were a kid. you could tell just by the writing. can't believe they were here for so long, and nothing was done. there are still more of them aswell. i'm pretty sure there are a group of them who are all probably friends.

I'd be seriously worried if my kids were on a suicide website to get their kicks, i mean really worried!!

wonder where all the people saying give them the benefit of the doubt are now??? sorry but i just find it so fucking obvious its unreal. i feel so bad seeing people spend there time and effort on someone lying ,cheating and manipulating others. especially maybe some vulnerable people , some of members are just too nice!!!!! then again some people could of had ulterior motives and actually wanted them here to manipulate them maybe into CTB which would be sick!

Have I like, officially experienced my first troll?!
:sunglasses:
PS. I said from the beginning something wasn't right, I just wanted to hear more of the story.. and work out the real age.. I'd narrowed it to about 14, and I think that the location was UK, not America.

probably not, i'm sure there are many more. maybe you just haven't noticed them!!! it's what pisses me off about the whole thing, people being lied too, manipulated and taken advantage of. IMO they were on here far too long before anyone did anything about it, which is worrying.

There is never a way to know for sure. It's the parents fault for not caring enough or supervising their kids. My kids won't be having a phone in school, but then again they can also talk to me about suicide. I feel bad for the teens that come here. It's sad they feel a need to.
