Hi,
I was given it for vertigo, which I get quite bad when it happens. I can't say I've seen any side effects, and it did stop the vertigo..
Do you think it causes bad reactions of you don't already have vertigo or travel sickness, or something for the drug to treat?
What is a recommended antiemetic?

I guess i had pretty bad reaction because of i was damaged by antidepressants previously.
Idk good antiemetic. When i would use benzos as antiemetic, but i am not sure is that good enough.

Hi,
Does anyone know if Prochlorperazine is a good antiemetic?

Do you mean good in general, good for a particular condition, or good for the SN or another suicide method?

Please read FAQ and notes .

Prochlorperazine
General infoBuccastem tablets are 3mg each.
Keep Benadryl/diphenhydramine on standby (used to treat EPS)
Place tablets under upper lip and wait 1-2 hours to dissolve.
Notes , Notes
StatSmaller dosage– 10 to 20 mg
Suggestion: if you are small, take 4 tablets ; medium sized- 5 tablets ; large person- 6 tablets
RegimenSame as Meto (10mg x 3 times a day) – but final dose smaller like Stat

It is a bit uncomfortable to use (dissolving 4-6 tablets in mouth for an hour) and carries higher EPS risk so test beforehand .

Hi,
I was going to say to use with an amitriptyline od. But on reading the info Quarky00 has provided they don't sound very pleasant to take this if they need to sit under the lip dissolving for hours?? When I take them for vertigo I just swallow them. Or am I reading this wrong?

Hi,
Yes, it does sound like you have suffered a serious reaction to them. I think you must be sensitive to certain types of medication if you also reacted so badly to an antidepressant. Though, my daughter had the same problem. She suffered from a variety of allergies and then found she also reacted to various medications including antidepressants, and some antibiotics.
