You can also change your default DNS, there are a lot of DNS providers to prevent your ISP blocking SS with german laws: https://www.google.com/search?q=trusted+dns+providers

There are an alternative way who don't need VPN, and it's free. But, if DNS changing not working, you can use VPN or TOR browser.

TOR is free, you can use official SS URL, and the another .onion URL for SS, for TOR access, useful in countries with dictatorship who blocking internet.

I think Germany block now SS and, I think another similar sites. Pro-Lifes try all ways to destroy Pro-Choices solutions, world is a pro-lifes' jail.

It's all connected. The German government is just attacking it from multiple directions. Using a vpn is probably the only way. Government always knows what's best for it's citizens -

I also heard/read that it's forbidden in Germany now, but for me it still works (and I'm not using a VPN).
So it might depend on your internet provider? I mean, I also checked some of the more popular search engines,
and SS appears on the very first page if you search for it.

I call this DNS poisoning. Basically I have Vodafone as my ISP here in Germany and I always noticed that they were blocking a lot of piracy and hardware hacking sites. This happens if you have any of the following ISP providers
  • Mobilcom
  • Telefonica
  • Telekom
  • Vodafone
Either you get a blank page, provider designed blocking info or you get redirected to https://cuii.info/

To bypass this BS, you have to change your DNS address to cloudflare (visit https://1.1.1.1/ for tutorials)

When I first experienced that with freeflix (a free netlix alternative with better design that was taken down back in 2014) I was surprised that they moved from censoring/indexing games to censoring the internet.

I'm in rehab, so I just can test it with congstar (sub telekom) provider.
No problems to open up SS if I'm disableing my alternste dns.
