Pro-life logic is amazing.

1. Life = good
2. Death = bad
3. Pain = bad
4. No pain = good

Life = (experience of) pain
Death = no pain

Therefore:
Life (good) = pain (bad)
Death (bad) = no pain (good)

The result of pro-life logic is hence:

Good = bad

This is perfectly said! I hope you don't mind I screen shotted this. Pure genius!

Pro-life reasoning is inherently unsound of mind and irrational. Unfortunately these people make up the vast majority of the human population. This enables the majority to set the rules and make up what's right and wrong without logic and repercussions.

I never understood why the majority of the population seems to be uncapable of seeing the root problems of this world. Most people have such a narrow, archaic and illogical understanding of the world. But then again, some time ago I was a pro-lifer myself. I guess when you're so blinded by hope it's really difficult to see the world for what it really is.

Our pro-life society makes me go crazy. It's a pro-suffering society. And yes, some people want to completely change society to make it more friendly, but how revolutionary is that? While changing society for the better is commendable, it's nothing more than damage control. Minimizing suffering. Truly revolutionary would be the abolition of suffering. And, like you said a few times on other threads, the revolution against nature/the abolition of suffering can only be achieved through ctb.

When I was in treatment, someone once told me that it's okay if I am depressed or have suicidal thoughts for the rest of my life as long as I manage them. Umm why would I want to stick around for over 5 more decades if I'm deprsssed and suicidal?

Amen to that!

Logic was never humanities cup of tea. The human animal was always irrational as a collective species. I would go as far as to say that perhaps people like us are ahead of the curve in the reality department. The truth is tough to face. Seems like we can see what others can't. I personally think neurotic people are far more realistic.

You want to stick around because your family would miss you. You see, your family's feelings are more important than your own feelings.
Also, your immense pain is worth the tiny amount of joy you will experience if you stay alive ;)

I agree. How can someone claim to be pro-life while nature itself is built to destroy it.

This is so true. Some people just say, when you wake up in the morning, you can choose to be happy. Like hell nah honey. Why would you choose to ignore all wrongs been done to you when you have the power to stop it.

The nail in the coffin for me with pro life is they assume life is worth living to whatever their standards are and they have a right to enforce it on others their standards based on feelings. Ie prolifernthinks evreyone should only be allowed to kill themselves if they lose one arm and enforce it on others. They never bother trying to prove their assumptions, go on emotional rants that are generally fundamentally flawed. You do not get to start with the assumption without proving your assumptions ie life is just always worth it unless you lose an arm. You do not get to start with the assumption death is the worst thing ever, espically when you believe death is eternal paradise. These people are ludicrous, their view on life is like a cult, if the facts counteract their position they ignore it, if they say things that contradict themselves, they ignore it.

Basically everyone secretly know life is always worth death deep in their hearts. So obviously you are better off being in pain than dying. Insanity.

It's the common and ridiculous equating of quantity with quality. So long as you have a lot of it, what does it matter if it's complete shit?

"Your misery doesn't matter as long as your heart is still beating." --Brilliant.

The one I love is how friends tell me, "You must take care of yourself! You must put your needs first for once!", but when I suggest I intend to ctb they shriek, "You can't do that to us! How could you be so selfish?!"

I like your deduction and reduction of the pro-life logic. Yes, the vast majority of people are illogical idiots who think that their reasoning is absolute. Since they are the ones that write the rules, they have dictated that life is always a net positive (even when it isn't). Also, yes fuck what others say about when one should be allowed to die or not. Even some of the more extreme pro-lifers still keep on chanting about living is always better than death, it just makes me really angry and sick. Fuck the lot of them.
