This will be my first thread on the forum. What spurred my joining this site was to seek advice of those who are more knowledgeable than I in the ways an means by which one could end their life. I'm not quite at the point where I feel that there is no other solution to my problems, but I am taking precautions and preparing an "exit plan" just in case it becomes a necessity. Thus, I'm starting this thread to discuss the efficacy of what I have chosen as my method.
I live in a country where firearms are not easy to come by. Where I live, the most common suicide method is, I believe, overdosing. I have heard of people using sleeping pills to cause a fatal overdose, and the strongest brand available here is Nytol, a brand that uses Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride as the active ingredient. I've found an online pharmacy that sells these pills packs of 20 with a strength of 50mg. As I understand it, a fatal dose for an adult male (which I am) is about 4g. I currently have 6 boxes, which comes to 6g of the active ingredient. My plan, if it comes to it, is to grind up all 120 pills and take them with copious amounts of strong alcohol.
I have searched the forum for information on this drug, but I found little. I feel that a massive dose as described above would be sufficient to engender death, but I'm not at all well-versed in chemistry or medicine. Does anyone know more about this method?
My first concern is that the pills will simply be regurgitated, which seems to be a possibility. I believe that there are other means of preventing vomiting, but I don't know what I could use in that regard. Further, what happens if this is not a success? I think we all are terrified of failing in an attempt to end it.
As I said, this is merely a preparation for a possible future scenario. I'm not quite there yet, but if it comes to it, I want to know that I will succeed. Thank you.
