  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

  • Security update: At around 2:28AM EST, the site was labeled as malicious by Google erroneously, causing users to get a "Dangerous site" warning in most browsers. It appears that this was done by mistake and has been reversed by Google. It may take a few hours for you to stop seeing those warnings.

If you're still getting these warnings, please let a member of staff know.

has anyone else tried to reach out through text or call to a suicide prevention number, only to get blocked by your cellular provider? im experiencing this with shout's number, and it's such a gut wrenching feeling, trying to get help but can't.

its just another 'fuck you' from life when im trying to get my shit together, it's a great feeling, trust me

I was unable to reach Shout when I was on iD mobile. None of the (tehnical) help sections on the website nor contacts gave me any answers of how to connect to the actual helpline when my network didn't seem to allow it.

I was only eventually able get through after I happened to change networks a few months later.

I personally had a poor experience with them when I did manage to get a response and so it reassured me not to bother trying again. I have had friends in the past who have had really good experiences with them though.

But I appreciate how rough and isolating it feels when you are at a fragile point where you want to try following society's advice and 'get help' or 'speak to someone' and it feels like the world is against you to do so. So trapping. I hope you are able to find a line that you are able to contact. Good luck.

Are you in the UK? It's a UK service so if you're not in the UK that may be the problem. If you are, is it really blocked? I used to get a warning I was going to be charged for the text but when I said that on social media they said that was wrong, and other people said text anyway and I wasn't charged. If it won't send the text could you check with your provider, no need to say what the line is, just say it's a free text service and that they've confirmed it's free. Don't know if that helps 🤗🤗🤗 (I'm with EE by the way)
You could try these guys chatline although they're only open 5pm-midnight https://www.thecalmzone.net/suicide-prevention-helpline
Oh and if it is blocked, let SHOUT know and maybe they can talk to the provider. Just know that SHOUT aren't like the Samaritans and if they think you're at risk they will make you agree to do things to stay safe or they'll call someone.

im on 3 at the moment, which is weird because I used to be with them on my iphone and was able to contact them totally fine. on android though, it counts as a premium number because it's 5 digits long, or 3 changed the price, no clue which one.

thanks for that website. I'll use that and let shout know. 🙂
