Or any other types of nitrogen?

I didn't know there are different types of nitrogen?? Doesn't make sense. Nitrogen is nitrogen

Apparently it's purity that's the difference

Aah that makes sense now. As long as it doesn't have too much CO2 it should be fine. 99.8% purity should be absolutely fine

I imagine higher purity would be better than lower, and you really can't get any better than 99.999% purity.

What would be the difference if you'd use a lower percentage Nitrogen? Like what would be the different effects you'd notice? Would it take longer?

Just wondering why ppeh links to the 2.8(99.8% purity)
It's only 30$ cheaper than the 99.999% 5.0 Nitrogen

The idea of having higher percentage of Nitrogen means there's less room for other gases and Oxygen. Like jodes2 said, you'd want as little CO2 as possible because that's what makes your body panic when you're not getting enough Oxygen.

I wonder that too. Probably because they think the extra $30 is not worth it and they're being cheapskates.

99% or 99.9%,it makes little difference, both are lethal

The 5.0 will have less ppm of moisture, hydrocarbons, O₂, CO, CO₂, NO, NO₂ and probably generated with a higher quality machine.

I don't think it matters if there's a little oxygen and co2 as they are still much lower than in air and won't have any noticeable difference

To work out the total possible impurities, subtract the purity rating from 100%, and multiply this figure by the total number of units:

Nitrogen with a rating of 5.0 = 99.999% purity.
100% - 99.999% = 0.001% total possible impurities.

To determine ppmv (parts per million by volume):

1,000,000 ppmv = 100%
So we multiply 1,000,000 x 0.001% = 10ppmv
Therefore there can be up to 10ppmv of impurities in Nitrogen with a rating of 5.0.

Anyway, if you want oxygen-free Nitrogen you need at least 99,998% purity -> 4.8

you really can't get any better than 99.999% purity.
You can, actually.

2.8 = 99,8%
3.0 = 99,9%
3.5 = 99,95%
4.0 = 99,99%
4.8 = 99.998%
5.0 = 99,999%
5.5 = 99,9995%
6.0 = 99.9999%
7.0 = 99.99999%
