So, a lot of people on here are looking for easier ways to ctb, and i was just thinking, usually fear is what prevents someone from taking an actionable method to ctb. Considering injuring one's self, usually you have to severely wound yourself in order to lose enough blood to die. Someone in my family told me in passing (they are a nurse) that she saw a bad case of someone nearly passing because they had a bad open wound (nothing that would usually kill) but they had taken a large amount of ibuprofen and that caused them to hemorrhage and nearly pass.
Ibuprofen is considered a blood thinner due to the fact that it significantly slows down the clotting rate of blood.

So basically what i'm saying is, could that mean potentially you could imitate this intentionally by harming yourself moderately, but losing lots of blood rapidly because of taking an ibuprofen (advil) overdose.

i'm just thinking that if this can happen accidentally it could maybe be imitated intentionally.
And if so, it might mitigate some fear as you wouldn't have to hurt yourself TOO badly but you would still lose enough blood for it to be the end
just spit balling idk.
the idea of that isn't quite as intimidating as a lot of other methods that require a lot of physical willpower and materials.
idk thoughts?

Overdose of ibuprofen doesn't make it stronger as a painkiller, it would just cause more side effects. Although there are much more strong painkillers than ibuprofen, the method with injuring seems rather extreme. There are more easy ways to kill yourself.

I think it is meant not analgesia, but thinning of the blood.Because Ibuprofen thins the blood and, in theory, it should flow faster and not clot in the wound.

You are onto something definitely, using blood thinners is a common practice for cutting and also gunshot suicide methods.

I used aspirin instead of ibuprofen on my cutting attempt, it definitely works but it might take a really long time. I was aiming to hit an artery but didn't manage to so I deemed the attempt unsuccessful and aborted. It took a few days for the wounds to stop bleeding through the bandages. What you are describing is also mentioned in "Suicide and attempted suicide" by stone. He says that a suicidal gesture involving cutting may be accidentally fatal if the person uses aspirin or similar
