Discussion Post suicide investigation

Does anyone know how deeply suicides are investigated by police? I'm mostly wondering about America but also curious about other countries as well. If it's a clear case of suicide - with note and all - would the police bother to check ISP web history, interview people, search belongings, check medical psych records, medications, etc. - or would they let it be for the most part?

I'd rather be left alone after i'm dead. But yes, that's the living me having anxiety about this and dead me will not care.

From my very basic information gathering, I think it mainly depends on whether the death could be viewed at all as suspicious. They would want to gather (only?) as much evidence as needed to satisfy the pronouncement that the death was a suicide, and there was no foul play. I think for this reason it's wise to leave a note that makes it clear the death was a suicide. (I'd be horrified, the living me anyway, if it caused any problems for my family.)
