Sorry to bring up a delicate topic but it's something I think should be considered as part of dignity in dying. Most of us know that when the body passes, certain body parts relax and leak bodily fluids. I read a "how to commit suicide" article written by a facetious asshole paramedic who was trying to scare people away from CTB such as telling people that if you are going to shoot yourself to at least do it the right way. And that if you are going to OD at least have consideration for the paramedics by wearing an adult diaper to collect the bodily fluids so they don't have to clean you up. As I said a total asshole thing to write but it does bring up a valid point. Traditionally in hospital or hospice the nurses take care of post mortem care by washing the body and wrapping it in a clean sheet. So the question is when you CTB, to wear an adult diaper or not?

It's probably more of a personal decision, a corpse is a corpse and it's gonna do what they do. Sorry I've gotten a bit comfortable at least with becoming a corpse part, because honestly it's really interesting once you start learning. Plus, it's a way to talk about death without outright talking about suicide. I don't get the fear of death the way life is anyway. The people that take care of the bodies do it all the time, and they know what to expect regarding how bodies act. There's some interesting videos all about that if you look. It's been my recent binge watching subject.

Thank you. I'm still dealing with being squeamish about it all on a physical level. But I won't be around to see it. Have thought about leaving a note that says "autopsies are against my religion. Respect the sacredness of my earthly remains. I've left my method in my note. Leave my poor old body alone". Then I realize how silly it would be. As if a coroner would actually listen to what your note said.

I have thought about the diaper thing recently. I will probably do it. Maybe put a plastic sheet underneath me also.

Where did you read this article at?
A dear friend shot himself with a 22 and before he did he wrapped his head in plastic and put plastic all over the bed and room so his wife would have to deal with it. He also had numerous other high powered guns and rifles, yet he chose the smallest (a .22)
I believe he did this to minimize the clean up. Sad thing is he ended up being put on life support for 4 days before his wife would finally agree to pull the plug.... that was the hard part for me. Watching him be a vegetable just for others selfishness. Fucked up

In hospice we used chux pads, those blue pads that are plastic on one side and absorbent on the other. We put those under every patient. They sell them in grocery stores in the pet section as puppy training pads.

Im going with laxatives every 24 hours, starting 72 hours before, so the "code brown " will be minimal, and also wearing a diaper.
I'm pretty scrawny, so the SpiderMan Pull Ups are my go-to;)
Most health care professionals treat corpses with dignity. It's part of the professional standards.
