Is this a viable partial hanging setup? Please excuse the crude drawing. Is partial really unreliable? And what are some suggestions for someone with no access to ropes? Are shoelaces really not recommended? I'm desperate...

i think shoelaces are too thin and would likely cause more pain while not hitting the carotid arteries

I'm going to say wow! You have some artist skills! I could never draw that. I can also tell you weren't trying to be fancy.
.

But I'm concerned about the load on that hanger rod. I doubt it supports much weight.

I've tried several times with hoodie laces and I've never been able to get it to work so I wouldn't recommend trying it either. I don't know if I'm just unskilled but I found it to be very difficult >w< I only got close once :(

I've tried with shoelaces/hoodie strings and tightened them to the point of leaving a mark on my neck for the next week, but it didn't even bring me near the point of losing consciousness, but also blocked the airway, which made it pretty unbearable even though I did the hyperventilation method beforehand.
Closest I've ever gotten is with a rolled up curtain, so I have to agree that they're too thin.

shoelaces are not a good option but can work, anchor point can work

if shoelaces are your only option i whould look into this:

this pdf shows how you can do it with shoelaces

Anagram unfortunately passed away with a full suspension hanging instead of this method, going as far as even REGRETTING making this thread and post and calling it bullshit! :(.
