Help Permanent damage from opioids?

I plan to use street fentanyl to OD and ctb. I've read that failed attempts can result in permanent damage, but is that likely to happen? I've read that hypoxia (lack of oxygen to the brain) is what can cause damage, but it's also what kills you. I figured damage happens only when you're found too late and brought back. If I know I won't t be found, do I need to worry about any of this?
