  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Good morning, afternoon or night, everyone.

I am a guy and I have had a highly sensitive nervous system since birth. This has determined the life I live now. For most of my life I did not realize that I had this feature and therefore I caused myself and, unfortunately, continue to cause myself a lot of harm in my life.

There are about 20% of people in this world with such a nervous system. And it is not a disease, it is a feature that is inherited.

Perhaps this resonates with someone reading this text at the moment.

People with high sensitivity report an increased reaction to stimuli such as bright light, pain, caffeine, hunger, loud sounds, etc. It has been proven that the psyche of highly sensitive people "is quickly overwhelmed by external stimuli, since they have a lower threshold for perceiving the environment. Their cognitive processing of external stimuli is deeper than that of most people." Deeper cognitive processing leads to an increased response time to environmental cues, which can be expressed in a more cautious behavior.

Because of this, highly sensitive people tire faster, as they quickly spend a large amount of energy on deeper cognitive processes. Such people need more time to make decisions, and it is more difficult for them to adapt to the social environment. However, high sensitivity is not the same as isolation, secrecy, or weakness of character.

If after reading anyone recognized themselves, then perhaps you could take the test by entering in Google or any other search - elaine aron hsp test.

There are also books written on this topic. Both by Elaine Aron and others.

It would be great if this information helped in your recovery and a more harmonious life in this world.

It makes sense that an over sensitivity to the environment could make life feel unbearable. I know that high sensitivity to noise is also a common trait of autism.

I'm grateful that I don't suffer from it but I can sympathise certainly. I've lived in exceptionally and antisocially noisy environments where it severely started to affect my sleep and quality of life. I'm sorry. Life has got to be that much harder with this.

Thank you for your attention to the topic I raised. In certain situations, high sensitivity can be mistaken for autism or other neurological disorders.

I appreciate your sympathy. It is sad that you were in an environment that was not suitable for you and that affected the quality of your life. I wish you well.

I am highly sensitive as well, particularly to loud sounds (which are very unpleasant for me, a lot of the times) and pain, but also to bright light sometimes.

I wish you well
