People who say that CTB is easy are weird to me. I know the conversation surrounding people who commit suicide has changed up from shaming to pity (thank god lol), but that doesn't stop the fact that some people still ridicule others who choose to commit suicide. If anything, it's far from easy.

Overdosing on pills is a method that has gotten more difficult in recent times. There's still a possibility to survive a car crash, jumping in front of a train, and other similar methods. Jumping from a building is more difficult with buildings installing railings and stuff. Cutting wrists rarely kills anyone and mostly causes excruciating pain. SN is increasingly getting harder AND expensive to get. N not only has a shortage, but also costs an arm and a leg to get. Even hanging yourself is a difficult thing to do as, even if it's arguably the most accessible method, SI still kicks in for a lot of people and they're gasping on the floor before they know it.

I could go on and on about how difficult CTB actually is, but you guys get it. I'm sick and tired of people acting as if CTB is some quick thing people turn to. Because if anything, it's the LAST thing people choose when they know they're at the end of the road. It's the thing you pick when you've exhausted all options, especially considering the fact that many mental healthcare workers will not fully understand suicidal ideation unless they experience it themselves, which is a rare occurence. It's fucked. The world is fucked.

You said it perfectly, sadly most people won't feel compassion or seek understanding for those they cannot relate much less someone who holds a belief that clashes with their own idea of the world. History of mankind in a nutshell.

Ctb is hard, that's for sure. But living is harder, in my opinion. So in a way it is the "easier" way out, compared to living and facing all your problems daily.

Holy shit yes. Agree with all of it. And the strange thing is that I think most of us here realize it's difficult, but maybe we didn't know exactly *how* difficult.

It becomes more and more apparent to me as I plan my out, how much work goes into it. Not just acquiring the necessary tools, but also a will, the luck of not being interrupted, all sorts of things. And it's strange to me because imo, you need to be in a calmer state to do all of that.

Yes, you are right that suicide is not easy. I think the people who say things like that are non suicidal people who have never researched or planned suicide before so they have no idea how difficult it really is. I have never wanted to live, but yet I am still here, trapped in this world as it is so hard to leave. The fear of failure is the main thing that holds me back. It is cruel how the society denies us the option of a peaceful exit and people have to resort to risky methods to end their pain. I wish that we lived in a world where our right to die is respected.
