People think that because people (read humans) are amazingly fucking stupid.
I think most of humanity is like that, barring a very small percentage of the human population.
Except for terminal diseases, there's rarely a single reason (and if you have only one, maybe you shouldn't do it). I've many reasons for doing it, not all equally strong, of course.
Same here, while I don't have a terminal illness, I have a permanent developmental disorder, Aspergers, that fucks up my social life and being able to do things that most people take for granted. Also, I'm not in a good situation financially due to unemployment and hard time finding any employment. There are other reasons to, but these are just the more immediate and pressing issues.
So true! Some people also say things like "they committed suicide over an argument/failing a math assignment/ something else." No. That was just what pushed them over the edge. They didn't kill themselves because of one argument or one test.
I agree with it entirely. Most people would pass off a suicide as impulsive and only look at the one event or thing that they killed themselves over. They basically "can't see the forest for the trees" when it comes down to this and are sadly very ignorant of even wanting to see the forest for the trees. In other words, they almost always look at suicide as a one sided issue, "it's a mental health issue", "it was impulsive", "the person wasn't rational or whatever", which of course are all bullshit since they refuse to see that the person simply decided enough is enough, time to end it so to avoid further unnecessary suffering.
