Pentobarbital or Pentobarbital Sodium difference ? Any chemists out here?

CAS# 76-74-4 is Pentobarbital
CAS# 57-33-0 is Pentobarbital Sodium

Hypothetically if I have a source for both of the above chemicals, which one should I order?

They should contain the same active ingredient, Pentobarbital.

From the descriptions, it sounds like one is a liquid (CAS# 76-74-4 is Pentobarbital) and one is a salt/solid (CAS# 57-33-0 is Pentobarbital Sodium). It shouldn't matter which one you get, but if you get the salt form, you'll have to take into account the molecular weight of Sodium when determining your dose.

Pentobarbital sodium CAS 57-33-0. The other one is the free acid, it won't dissolve in water and is poorly absorbed from the GI tract.
