Help Partial suspension novice

[Struggling]

idiot question is it going to work with a dressing gown tie. Read enough to know that partial suspension is the best way; tried enough. Can't pass out. only get to feeling intense pressure and discomfort. Tried from doorhandle but don't feel I'm getting enough weight on the tie.
