Feeling desperate.
Could I loop something over the top corner of this door, close it and do partial from the inside leaning away from the door. I dont know if it will hold on the corner of the door?
I have plenty of towels/bedding to use.

I don't think that would work. Even after you pass out, your body will unconsciously try to find a way to break free. The chances of unsecured material coming loose too soon are quite high and you risk causing yourself irreversible brain damage.

Are you in hospital?

Yes, you can wedge something between the door and its doorway (belt is popular, I tried and it works, but chickened out), however, make sure it is not loose and is fixed tight. If it slips you might break your coccyx or something.
Apart from that, posture can be important. You might want to look into that.

P.S.

I didn't take into account unconscious behavior. This could be a thing and could ruin everything.

Yes I am.

I dont have a belt, I have clothes, a big towel and the usual bedding. Not allowed a blanket though. Not bothered about hurting my coccyx as I broke it as a kid and it never got set so had pain every since anyway.

I have practiced at home but not with a door edge as an anchor point.

Being in hospital must be awful. I really feel for you.

Is there an added risk of you being found by someone? Wouldn't that make the situation worse?

Its the unknown of how long I will be here.
I am voluntary but said yesterday I wanted to leave and they got someone to see me who said if I leave they would section me. All along they are making out I have a choice about being here but I dont really.
I dont believe this or anything will help me and its a matter of when, not if, I kill myself

It's a really horrible situation to be in. In that setting, you feel almost inhuman because you're someone "with serious mental health problems" and that forms the backdrop to everything that happens. You don't feel like a person at all. The "help" that's offered feels so clinical and medicalised. But the staff are well-intentioned and want to do their best for you within the constraints of the system they're working in. It's the system itself that's broken.

Can you find a way to just play along with it for a while, maybe? Trying to CTB in hospital could just make everything worse for you. They've set everything up so that isn't even really an option at the moment anyway. Could you find a way to distract yourself like downloading a book or finding a TV series to get lost in? Or maybe even trying meditation? Just for now?

I am going to be here weeks at least, they sold it to me by saying I need to change my medication where it is safe. They also know I have plans to kill myself but dont seem bothered about that, they just tell me to manage.
I am getting really bad anxiety in here and it is making me worse. I have been in since tuesday and no changes to my meds yet at all so it just isnt fair.
I cant distract myself at all, I just zone out while staring at the TV and think all the bad thoughts.
I told a nurse last night I was worried I would kill myself then so she offered to take my phone charger and laces off me. Then she said she would rather feel she can trust me and leave them so thats what she did. Yes I didnt kill myself last night, but I was so worked up with the temptation being there

The not knowing must be really anxiety-inducing. Having the option to CTB would be really comforting now, I imagine. Knowing that you can escape if you want to and that decision is up to you and no one else.

This is just my opinion but if you're going to kill yourself, it should be well-planned and thought through after weighing up all your possible options. It should also be quick and relatively peaceful with a low risk of it going wrong. If it's done impulsively and incorrectly, you risk doing serious damage to yourself and can end up in a worse situation.

It's really hard to focus on TV or read a book if your anxiety is sky-high - totally agree. Are there other people there that you can socialise with? Is there any outside space where you can go for a walk and escape your room for a bit?

Yes totally agree, I have planned this for a long time and although it isn't the ideal situation/conditions here, hanging is a well prepared for option for me.

The people seem nice but with my anxiety so bad I don't feel able to mix and its like they are all gorping at the newbie. Too much for me to take in right now. I asked to go out for a walk but I have to go with a nurse the first time as I havent been to the hospital before and they are just too busy

Get onto them about that! You need to get some exercise and some fresh air. Have you been inside since Tuesday?

I bet the people there are really happy to see a new person. Everyone will have their own problems and issues but none of that is about you. When you're feeling a bit less anxious and you're able to relax a bit, you'll probably find a couple of really nice and interesting people to connect with. You're all in a similar situation at the moment so you have that in common.

This does seem risky. Make sure that everything is very secure and can withstand you pulling on it hard before trying anything here.

You should find a member of staff and tell them that you really need to go outside. If you've been in the same room with limited social interaction for nearly a week, then the bad thoughts will have got louder and louder. No wonder you feel so desperate and hopeless. *Big hug*

If u tie a rope or a string with the other side of the doorknob then yes, don't forget to close the door.

No, u trash around when ur trying to get out while u have convulsions/cramps cos it could start even before going unconscious.

Yes it will just tie the rope or the string with the other side of the doorknob, don't forget to close the door.
There is no doorknob to secure it to, the handles are indented rather than stuck out so I cant seure it to anything normally

No, when u pass out u just get cramps u don't trash around, u trash around trying to get out while u have convulsions/cramps cos it could start even before going unconscious, stop scaring ppl.
At this stage of my research, I've watched enough hanging videos to confidently reach the conclusion that hanging a bed cloth over the corner of a door isn't going to work unless you're extremely lucky.

I've tried to explain to them how to not try it unless there's a doorknob and actual an rope or string, also there's no video on doorknobs or ppl failing, i did thot about a lot of possiblys, when u see ppl trashing around there not unconscious, they just new they fuck up and they want to stop it but they can't at that stage, after this u'll keep having some minor cramps that's it.

They're in hospital and there aren't any doorknobs. Did you read the original post or are you just jumping on something you disagree with?

Yes, I am stupid. I'm a complete fuck up and I hate myself. Are you happy?
I'm the same, but u should not scare ppl from stuff ur not sure about and not saying why, just based on videos, also sure there's always a chance of stuff going wrong but not how u described it.
