First Nations in Canada have suicide rates double that of the national average. I am not the one you are looking for but may I know your thoughts on this? A First Nations community declared state of emergency because of suicides 3-4 years ago. Wondering if your reasons for suicidal ideation are part of this epidemic or are you reasons very own and personal. *hugs*
you mean Indigenous people in 'canada'. 'canada' isnt real. this land was stolen from us. yes, there are lots of reserves around Turtle Island - including reserves south of the medicine line (in the 'usa') - who have declared states of emergency because of the suicides as well as deaths directly and indirectly related to alcohol. because i am native, my wanting to die is inherently part of the suicide crisis. native people die due to alcohol poisoning or long-term alcoholism because we were stripped of our traditions, cultures, languages, and our families were and continue to be separated at every possible chance by the so-called 'government of canada'. my reasons are personal, yes, but everyone's will be, and if you are native, you are inherently in pain. there is a hole in every one of our souls. and sometimes it gets healed, but the only way that any of us ever finds peace is through our languages, our traditions, our land, and being connected to our families and cultures.
