hey guys i'm kinda panicking rn and would appreciate any advice

a week ago i ordered NaNO2 sodium nitrite 98% 250g from a chemicals supplier in NL, the tracking on the parcel went from shipping back to awaiting info and now i cant see any tracking info indicating it has been withheld. i did some further research and found that in accordance with UK strict regglation on this substance they have to report to uk authorities on all of these purchases, meaning this one with my name and addresss on it will likely be found go back to me

if they see my medical record im fucked, would rly appreciate any advice what to do and how to act, i cant have police turn up to where i am

I don't know if police have access to your medical records. As someone who has been to both prison and a mental health back to back they seem to be very separate. Unless they open a formal investigation (which I doubt they would) I don't think they will be informed of your medical record. From my experience the worst thing that would happen is a welfare check. The police in the UK can be scary but they're also not that great at their jobs. My parents asked the police to do a welfare check on me and they reported back to my parents that I was fine and just needed space when in actual fact at that point I was in prison. There is unfortunately very little communication between services in the UK which means they likely wouldn't attempt to access your medical records (I'm actually not sure that they could do that without opening a formal investigation which I highly doubt they would). What they might do is run your name and address through their database and if you're not on their system (I.e. you don't have a criminal record) then I doubt they would bother if I'm being honest. The police have strange priorities at times so it can hard to know for sure but I'm confident you'll be okay. Also unless you're under arrest you don't have to answer their questions, give them your phone or let them in your house. And refusing to do any of those things legally cannot be considered evidence a crime has occurred or an admission of guilt. Most people think they have to do whatever the police say or they'll be arrested but that's not true at all and it's something I wish I had known in my dealings with the police. But again I highly doubt it would even come to that. You'll be okay. :)
I just double checked. The police don't have unrestricted access to people's medical records. In order to access your mental health records they would need a court order which again I doubt they would even bother getting. Also if they come to your house you can also ask them to leave. Unless they have a warrant or you're under arrest (which again is highly unlikely), you don't have to do anything they say. You can even report them for trespassing if they refuse to leave. You have a lot more rights here than you think and I genuinely don't think anything will even happen to you.

I'm in the U.S.

But what i've seen about the UK imo they are going to give anyone who buys SN at least a welfare check.

these people are evil. it's no one else's business if i want to kill myself especially not the evil government idiots

SN is a legal substance they can't just hold it and then go harrass people or put people in a mental ward for buying a legal substance. but to my recollection they have

Okay so after a bit more research I'm sure nothing will happen to you. They would only do a welfare check for which they wouldn't even attempt or be able to access any medical records. Ordering SN isn't a crime. In order for it to progress to an arrest they would need evidence of criminal intent such as threats to poison someone, repeated attempts or any links to crime. In my own experience you need to be seen by 2 medical professionals who both agree your mental health needs cannot be handled in the community. All of this is very unlikely to happen in this situation. It might not even progress to a welfare check. A lot of the time they just stop these things entering the country and that's it. Please try not to worry.
