These are two channels run by relatives of people who have committed suicide. I've kind of been watching them obsessively of late, when I can do so without attracting the attention of the people with whom I live. Part of me considers them overwrought bullshit, or at any rate inapplicable to where I find myself in life. But another part of me finds the oddly touching. Curious what others think, if you have the time to watch a few videos.
First channel:
Life After Losing My Son To Suicide / Rachel Moorefield - First video she posted after her son's death.
Channel Index - From most recent backwards in time.
Her videos (and there are quite a few) are all over the place. In some she puts on a brave face, in others she's basically having an on-camera meltdown. She's married and in her early 40s, with two surviving daughters who look to be elementary school age. Her son was around 20 when he passed.
Second channel:
Anna S - First video she posted after her father's death.
Channel Index - From most recent backwards in time.
There's only four videos up to this point, with next to no views, but if anything I find this far more touching than Moorefield's channel. She says very little about her father, only that she wants him back. She seems kind of disconnected from reality at various points as well.
At any rate, what I like about both channels is that they're not the usual "professional" bullshit spouting nonsensical platitudes. Both are pretty raw in terms of discussion, but I honestly can't see why YouTube stuck content warnings on a few of the videos. All it is is people in front of a camera talking, though in Moorefield's case that sometimes means screaming and crying.
Hope this is an okay topic, and, as noted, am curious what others think.
