if their life oneday lands on a tail, such as a car accident of someone close they know.

life is a RNG.
What happens next isn't always dependent on what happened in the past.

Though I get that most people would like to be happy.

I think non suicidal people are delusional, to want to live in a world where there is so much suffering. I believe wanting suicide is perfectly rational in a life like this. Even if things are going well for someone that can quickly change and there is no limit to the amount of pain we can experience. Just that knowledge is enough to make me want to exit. Life is very unfair, but everything is determined by luck and chance. I see life as being an unnecessary, pointless experience and I certainly see it as being better to never be born in the first place.

I don't think most people pretend, but, as @FuneralCry said, they're delusional and really believe in their happiness. It might be one of the reasons people hate suicidals like us, because we make them question their lives and they feel for a brief moment how life truly is.
