I am putting in my greatest effort. I exercise, receive therapy, read about self-esteem, take medications, and eat nutritiously. But I don't think I am making progress.

I don't know what my problem is but I know I am not comfortable around people. I don't know if it is thought broadcasting, introversion, or social anxiety. If it is thought broadcasting there is little hope except for an untried medication.

I am not sure of the purpose of this post except ranting. By the way I appreciate people from this forum responding to previous posts.

I have only been self-diagnosed with Agoraphobia myself in the past, so I'm not so familiar with thought broadcasting, but in any case, such social disorders are extremely distressing to live with day to day - I understand you there

I think it is okay to prefer your own company. I am interested in a lot of real topics, but can't stand partisan politics or complaining about sex or money, so end up doing things by myself, with my dog.

I agree but it is torture when I have to do things around people or even talk with them on the phone. I feel like they know what I think and I have to try to control my thoughts to appease them.

I sort of know what you mean. I was raised Catholic and maybe that made me think there is an omnipotent power.

However, the reality is most people have near zero interest in what other people say, and certainly not what they think. Most people are just waiting for the chance to talk about themselves.

I think the most important social skill is to listen and be mildly supportive and encouraging.

hey op,

i'm sorry, your brain is lying to you. it is ok to be bad in public (i am!!) but don't worry, you are not broadcasting your thoughts. nobody knows what you're thinking, i am a legitimate brain doctor, believe me when i say your thoughts are 100% safe and only yours.

Taking the steps you've been taking is progress in and of itself, even if you don't feel it is working.

About your social anxiety, you could look into rejection therapy.

Are you in a stable environment?

As stable as I could ask for.

Healing takes a long time my friend, it doesn't happen overnight. Wish there was a magic potion to end your pain, but it's a day by day, keep doing what you doing eating healthy, there is a herbal supplement called http5. Is meant to help you with your down moments and you feel more positive and more energetic, maybe give it a try in a herbal store?

You are doing brilliantly and doing everything you can to make a difference. It will be hard to see the difference and I know you will be eager to see results but take pride in making a go of things.

When I read what you were doing it really warmed me inside and I hope you find the strength to keep on fighting away at this.

I never knew about this condition and I can't begin to imagine how it must make you feel

Stay strong and we are all here behind you

What is the goal? What is progress for you?

Super feelers can need more time away from crowds to re-center from the over stimulation.
Please know you are not alone in your heightened sensitivity.
You don't need to justify your feelings, and certainly not your existence to anyone else.
You're not doing it wrong, you're not defective.
You're actually exceptional in this way.
Be patient with yourself and protective of your uniqueness - you need all of that on your side.
