No amitriptyline overdose for me ?

I haven't read everything, but https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Suicide/Amitriptyline_cocktail suggests 'the' method.

Unfortunately I can't depend on benzos for that, regardless of dose. Docs ******me up rather badly.

Hi @Arak! Let me tell you, die from amitriptyline overdose isn't so easy as it seems. I tried and the worst thing for me is the neurologic damage, can be permanent... Even if you get it successful the death from amitriptyline is not pacific. But amitriptyline is a very good sedative (unless for who has a strong tolerance), you can dope yourself with it while try another method. I hope it helps, good luck.

Yes. In fact I tried both cocktail and alone Amy, and tried my own cocktail version, be creat (amitriptyline kills you mainly by arrhythmia and other cardiac effects). Let me tell you, I had different results: total delirium for days, deep sleep, seizures (needed hospitalization), psychosis, permanent neurologic damage...

Maybe you could try zopiclone or some non-benzo sedative? Still would need enough to knock you out for a possible 24-36 hours.

I see. But, Amit. Cocktail works fine by itself. Why did it fail. Have you taken the required amount of pills given in cocktail?

If you have tolerance only to benzos, give some gap may be some months.. don't take benzos . I think it'll do.

I have no access to 6/7 grams, unfortunately, and even less about benzos (amount and different types). Maybe that's why I didn't die... All I can say is that 3 grams of amitriptyline, 2 grams of cimetidine, 200mg of diazepam and 10mg of clonazepam didn't kill me, but damage me a lot, maybe permanently. I quit overdose, I find partial hanging is the way for me.

Thinking if you can't get amitriptyline enough you can replace with other sodium/calcium/potassium channel blockers OTC like diphenhydramine, promethazine and stuffs like that? They are both anticholinergics, antihistamines and I think are cardiotoxic like TCA's.

That is unfortunate, and I really hate to be disrespectful and I'm so sorry for your suffering, but at the same time it's best not to denounce something as a viable method when you took such a small amount. Even the original, now outdated cocktail, 5g was deemed not enough eventually iirc. Very sorry but I think the dose was severely lacking.

Zopiclone and "z-drugs" are for people who can't take benzos for numerous reasons. It seems that people have used them in suicides in the past, acting similarly to benzos in an overdose (extremely sedating and depressing on the CNS). I'm not a doctor though, I don't know how medications interact and the dose would need to be more excessive than you might guess without doing research, overdoses aren't something you can just "wing".

Be careful giving advice please! Amitriptyline without sedation would be awful, the effects of overdose are not peaceful and sedation is required for this, with proper sedation the experience is peaceful, subjectively.
