I wonder if you could combine the night-night method with the torniquet method. Say you put the beanbags/cornhole bags on your carotids, wrap a piece of cloth, rope, shoelace, etc around your neck over the bags, then place the actual torniquet (stick, spoon, pen) horizontally in between the bags and ligature, and twist until you pass out. Everything should stay in place, no? This could provide extra padding and make the torniquet method swifter I suppose. It could also be good for those who don't have access to a ratchet strap.

Would a homemade tourniquet stay in place though? You can buy medical tourniquets from Amazon which might be more reliable.

However yes I think it would work well providing the tourniquet doesn't unwind, what you have described is my backup plan :D

I was considering trying this too because the ligature method is not working for me at all.

Yea... We're on the same page, worldexplorer!

I've progressed a tiny bit though. When doing the NN, moving the pressure spot (beanbag) few inches sideways, I'm not getting the rushing bloodflow and exploding head that much - which is good - BUT - although I'm not choking, there's the feeling of oxygen deprivation and the urge to breathe faster and deeper... Its practically as if you're holding your breath underwater. Its not some fucking fright or panic, no.
Purely physical. I've read that when done correctly, this carotid sinus baroreceptors thing should rather lower your heart rate and blood pressure, so I waited 30-40 seconds for nasty signs to subside or finally faint, but .... not yet :|

Anyone else with the same?

I'm never close to passing out, just been getting a rush of blood to the head. I've been using a neck tie and pencil, apparently it's supposed to work in seconds.

I feel like my carotid is being restricted but maybe not enough. Might need something thinner than a tie. Idk.

Yes loss of consciousness is 4 - 8 seconds I think, when done correctly.

According to the last five acts it shouldn't unwind once it hits against your collarbone/jaw/mattress but that wasn't with the beanbags. I'm considering the beanbags as well because if I fail it won't leave a big mark on my neck. There's even a chance that one could suffer cardiac arrest once the carotids are properly compressed.

Rush to the head is caused by cutting off the jugular. That's where you get the red head / rush.

I get dizzy my hearing goes and get light headed. Think this is close, but I have to abort.
Yep. That's the feeling that you're shooting for. Sometimes with certain people, you won't even feel the light-headed feeling hit you. It all depends on the person as I stated in the NN method thread. Some people it might take a little longer as well too. You found your sweet spots though. You might be able to move around them a little more to see if there is something that feels more comfortable to you.

Also, you can fold the bean bag/corn bag in half so that it's thicker. Wrap a little tape around it so that it's secure. That way you can pinpoint easier if you need to. It might be a little uncomfortable doing that, but some people might need to do that.

As always, read everything in the NN method thread and take the suggestions that I've given in every single one of my posts.

You don't have to use the bean bags/ratchet right away when finding your sweet spots either (like I mentioned before). You find the sweet spots and then plan from there.

Why can't you do it in bed? As long as you have privacy for few hours I think you're fine
