Hmm, I wonder how many patches it it would take, how long I would need to be alone. I have had mild nicotine poisoning before and I was vomiting and dry heaving for hours. Wasnt pleasant, but it was bearable I just layed there until I felt better.

Wonder if I could take night meds, apply a ton of patches, and go to sleep.

Interesting thought. Here's what I just looked up....

The CDC says 50 to 60 milligrams of nicotine is a deadly dose for an adult who weighs about 150 pounds. But some research suggests a lethal amount may be a lot higher.
Nicotine poisoning usually happens in two stages. Symptoms typically last an hour or two after a mild overdose and up to 24 hours for severe poisoning. You'll
get early symptoms within the first 15 minutes to an hour.

Late-phase symptoms are more like winding down. They happen 30 minutes to 4 hours later.

  • Diarrhea
  • Shallow breathing
  • Slower heartbeat
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Lethargy
  • Feeling weak, slow reflexes, or unable to control muscles
  • Seizures

Yeah, I was thinking about this too as I have a few boxes from the hospital and haven't used them. Would like to know if anyone else knows about this or what anyone can find out.

Nicotine patches ain't cheap. You'll wind up spending couple hundred bucks just getting enough to cover your body.

One advantage would be that since it's transdermal one wouldn't need to worry about anti-emetics. Even if one throws up, it's not ridding your body of the substance.

Someone on CSI killed someone this way. Further research is obviously necessary, but I guess it is a thing.

I doubt it would work that well - I researched this a bit but was thinking about the nicotine liquid used in e-cigs. I've had minor nicotine poisoning too (patch + smoking, not a great idea). You can get nicotine juice relatively easy, and in amounts that should be deadly according to those CDC-statistics. But we're not the first ones to think about this and there have been reports of people surviving far, far larger doses than those that "should" be deadly.

Most states have nonprofit and/or government assistance. You can get free NRT in most states in the USA<not sure about other places>. I read a few death reports on this but the amount in their bodies was way higher than 50mg - 100mg all the fatal cases I found were 3000mg and up. It seems that if you are a nicotine user already you have a less chance also. Honestly doesnt seem to to painful, just very uncomfortable for a few hours.

I am not an expert but does it not depend on individual susceptibility? I can imagine that someone who have been taking a nicotine products reguraly for years (e.g. smoking cigaretts) may be more "immunized" than someone who had low contact with this substance.

Yes you are right.. I have stages on the hard (for more than a month, only cigarettes (2 packs a day) and coffee. but there are no consequences, only my head hurts from time to time..
ran across a method with a nicotine hood.. but I doubt it would work

Article describe brain damage from nicotine! (in other literature its described as painful and unreliable)
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5835582/

According to article above the lethal dose (LD50) for nicotine in humans is 1 mg/kg, doses in the cases presented in the article exceeded the lethal dose:

"We had two patients, a 27-year-old male who ingested about 23 mg/kg of nicotine and a 17-year-old female who ingested about 30 mg/kg of nicotine."

"They were ultimately discharged with a cerebral performance category of 2 and 4, respectively."

CPC 1 - A return to normal cerebral function and normal living
CPC 2 - Cerebral disability but sufficient function for independent activities of daily living
CPC 3 - Severe disability, limited cognition, inability to carry out independent existence
CPC 4 - Coma
CPC 5 - Brain death

https://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/cerebral+performance+category+scale

Second case:
"Although spontaneous eye opening was noted, neither awareness nor intentional movement was noted. On the 32nd day of admission, she was transferred to a rehabilitation facility with a CPC of 4."

Conclusion
I write this post to prevent anyone from end up with brain damage. I strongly advice against nicotine od. Use only reliable ctb method and make sure not to be found too early!!
