Pentobarbital is a short-acting barbiturate, which means it kicks in fast. Even taking it orally, you would likely be dead before you got to the hospital for charcoal and a stomach pump. Groaning and gasping is somewhat common after loss of conciousness, but there is very little chance you would be saved in time, especially if you hide the evidence before you pass out.
