The guy next door CTB today via hanging, 3 police cars arrived and an ambulance but it was too late so the ambulance left, the road got shut off and now 1 policeman is guarding the front of the house and 1 at the back. Just a bit of insight as to what happens when you CTB in the house. I guess they are waiting on the body being picked up as forensic van has came and gone. His ex partner was out the front of the house screaming the place down.

I did not really know him he was 44 I think, but it certainly was an eye opener as to how devastated people are after it.

Don't know how I didn't notice that, a bit worrying that I don't seem able to read things properly..

The thought of this just clarifies why I'm off to a Hotel. I don't really want my neighbours out getting some salacious gossip based off what I've done. I don't speak to any of them, they're a bunch of wankers - so there'd be the inevitable, "ooh he was so quiet, I bet he was a serial killer and that's why he did it" bullshit :D within a week I'd be responsible for 9/11 and the disappearence of Shergar no doubt. Wouldn't occur to them I was quiet because I'm quiet, and I don't really associate with people I don't like just to keep up appearances.

My neighbours Son killed himself a few years ago as it happens, not sure why but he wasn't much older than me at the time. Didn't do it there though, I just heard about it after. An old girlfriend found her father hanging in the 90s, completely screwed her up and she ended up on Heroin. I hope the poor woman in the OP has it easier. I'd never want anyone I love finding me, I'm selfish but not that selfish.

Same, I'd be pretty content to go in some nice woodland somewhere as I've always loved nature, but that runs the risk of being found by a kid or some other innocent bystander. Always wanted to just leave a note on my door and pass away in bed though.

Forensics are back, it really is an eye opener that you don't just ctb and they take your body away. I had no idea there would be this much drama involved. My mate stays a few streets away and they heard the woman screaming, I also witnessed her in tears outside shouting how could you do this to our son, a neighbour had to bring a camping seat out for her to sit on in the street. His dad is currently sitting onside on the wall with his head in his hands.

Oh, that's really so sad to hear. It is devastating for the family and others. My husband did not ctb at home, but elsewhere. But I know he caused quite a scene where he was. Mercifully no family members were there and had to see the aftermath. He went elsewhere so we did not see. He even got out of his vehicle so that it would not be ruined.
I'm so sorry for his family. They are suffering, there is just no way around it. When we ctb, people will be hurt. :(

Only parents will be hurt for a long time. All the other people will forget and they will go on living their life. They are just curious for gossip and they want to stay away from any traumatic episode.
When I was a kid, a guy in his 20s died of overdose in my palace. I have never heard anyone talking about it.
A few years ago a man died by hanging in the apartment near a colleague; he told me, we spoke a bit, but he never said things like "if I knew what he was going through, maybe I could have helped".

And regarding the ex that was crying her heart out: I do wonder if she is the one that decided to break up. It would be very hypocritical.
2 years ago a man told me to have left his partner because of his psychological problems and his abuse of alcohol. After separation, he committed suicide. The man then started saying how depressed he had been for that, he pretended to look at me with tears in his eyes. He told me the story the very first time we met, like if he wanted to get my compassion. It gave me shivers to realize that there are people that would reveal such personal stories to be considered like the victims.
There are many actors in this world that just want to have eyes only for them and they would not even respect the pain that a suicidal had to go through.

So people should have to stay with someone in a relationship that isn't working on the off chance their partner might kill themselves? People can still love each other and not be together. Maybe his behaviour was the factor that caused the breakup?

you're right, they should not. but when one chooses to close the relationship (knowing how much the other person is unprepared and how devastating it might be for him/her), he chooses himself over the other. He chooses that he just wants to live a better life. I don't blame it. But then he should respect the pain and the decision of the other person without making a public event.
All the times that I've been talking with people that knew personally someone that committed suicide (or was killed), the sufferance of the dead person was never a concern. They were only concerned about having been traumatized. I was nauseated, because I could feel the pain of the dead person and disgusted from how easily people talk about these things like if it was gossip.

Well his choice might not have been about the relationship at all, we'll never know.

Agree with most of your second paragraph though. But I doubt that's the case with every survivor.

Yes, people like to sympathize with the one that most resembles them. And so I've always identified myself with the dead person

I have no idea the reasons, I know he had a good job and 2 children, but just shows you don't know what people are going through. The town I live in hit the national papers back in 2018 because of a " suicide crisis " in the town, it was a regular thing.
