everyone else talking about "new year new me cant wait to get all my shit together" and im just over here like yeah i dont relate
thats a great way of putting iti always feel much more suicidal after the new year because it reminds me that without intervention my life (and therefore my discomfort) is going to carry on lol... not to coopt your post w my experience i just mean yeah you're not alone. "new year more pain" imo
yeah i don't bother with using dates anymore the reason people fail resolutions is the same reason they fail their goals, they haven't learned how to achieve them.all the people saying that lack discipline and rely on motivation. even the motivation isn't from within; they're just hopping on an emotional bandwagon like codependent sheep. people who actually get their shit together almost never do it on a new years resolution, and they definitely never actually talk about it. i think a birthday is a lot more meaningful and relevant for the margin of people who need a date to put their foot down or whatever, but no one does those, since it's not universally hyped up and people rely THAT much on a collective mindset. they're gonna be doing the same shit as always by april (maybe february), just like we're gonna keep doing the same shit but without the theatrics.
Precisely the thoughts I've been having for the past week. Holy hell. Thank you for sharing. That's the exact thought train I've been spiralling on.i always feel much more suicidal after the new year because it reminds me that without intervention my life (and therefore my discomfort) is going to carry on lol... not to coopt your post w my experience i just mean yeah you're not alone. "new year more pain" imo
Well said.all the people saying that lack discipline and rely on motivation. even the motivation isn't from within; they're just hopping on an emotional bandwagon like codependent sheep. people who actually get their shit together almost never do it on a new years resolution, and they definitely never actually talk about it. i think a birthday is a lot more meaningful and relevant for the margin of people who need a date to put their foot down or whatever, but no one does those, since it's not universally hyped up and people rely THAT much on a collective mindset. they're gonna be doing the same shit as always by april (maybe february), just like we're gonna keep doing the same shit but without the theatrics.
