So I am from the US and have been trying to get depression meds via an app and I am having a hard time with it. I downloaded Nurx and filled out their mental health questionnaire. They said to be honest.. so I did.. and I selected yes for the questions about thoughts of suicide. This was my mistake because I'm not currently suicidal, I just had those thoughts in the past. And now the questionnaire stopped and it said that I need to see a medical professional in person and it gave me the suicide hotline number.

The thing is though, forth my health insurance I have an HMO so I can only see my primary care doctor and no one else or it charges me like triple the cost. My primary care doctor, whom I trust and have an established relationship with, unfortunately does not have any appointments availabilities until the end of September. I can't even see another specialist like a therapist until I get a referral from my primary but I'd still have to wait until the end of September.

I can't wait that long, so that's why I'm exploring telehealth via the apps. I will probably have to pay out of pocket because my insurance sucks so I'm curious- do you know of any good apps/telehealth providers that can help with depression? I'm open to providers that prescribe medicine and I'm open to online therapy (as long as I can afford it).

Also, what should I not say on the mental health questionnaires so I won't get kicked out like I did with Nurx? I deactivated my account with Nurx but I am thinking of trying Hers.

I would love to hear others testimonials about successfully using apps and telehealth to get depression treatment/care! Please share!!

I use brightside ($95/month) for my meds, the only issue is they aren't allowed to prescribe anything like Xanax, but my dr put me on lamogtrigine, propranolol, abilify, and fluvoxamine. Then there is also the dr on demand app, they do telehealth but it's like 299$ for the appointment out of pocket (I have it free through work)
