After everything that happened after buying my sn and having my parents find it (and my dad accusing me of buying drugs) I've gotten in contact with a housing support association and I'm going to talk to a support worker on Thursday about my options.

I'm going to have to tell her about what happened with the sn incident (she'll likely find out anyway from one of my parents if she talks to them). I'm hoping it'll make my application for housing support stronger as it shows how nuts my dad can get over assumptions and the distress/fear it causes me. Thing is, I can't do that without saying I bought sn, so I need to come up with an excuse of why I bought it.

Right now the only idea I can come up with is that I did buy it to ctb and putting more emphasis on my family problems as a reason for wanting to do so, while trying to convince the support worker that after advice from a friend I've reconsidered and I'm trying to escape my family home for some time to try and recover and fix my mental state somewhat. The obvious problem is that this could lead to me being sectioned (though here in England it seems pretty unlikely, I wasn't sectioned after I was hospitalised for a previous attempt but I'm still worried) or possibly having my phone searched to find out how I knew about sn and the antiemetics/acid reducers which could lead to this site being found.

Anyone have any better ideas? Anything is much appreciated ♡

Hi ❤️
Really glad you're going to see a support worker and I hope they can get you some accommodation sorted - or at least get you on a waiting list. It will definitely help to get away from the turmoil you live in.

Regarding the SN, if you have to say you bought it to ctb then that's fair enough - say your living circumstances are making you feel suicidal. Don't mention the anti emetics etc. If they do come up in conversation, then say living at home makes you sick.

The thing about sectioning these days in the U.K. Is they have a massive shortage of beds so they really don't do it unless they have to eg you are a current danger to yourself or someone else. If you say you are no longer suicidal as the support worker has given you hope you will be fine.

Suicide risk assessment is basically a tick box exercise. Act cheerful and say you have no longer a suicidal intent and it's all good.

Love and hugs xx

Thank you, I'll definiteky try and do that. Any ideas for what I can say about how I knew sn was lethal? I don't think it's a common thing people use to ctb so it might seem a little odd that I know about it

You can say you read it was used for curing meat and was a salt so thought it might be worth a try. The support worker is unlikely to know it's lethal herself.

Plain table salt on its own can cause poisoning so it's not unrealistic that you could read about a "stronger salt for curing meat" and try and "poison yourself" with that.

These people mostly believe what they are told tbh

If you don't want to say you tried to ctb why don't you just make something up and say you tried to od on something, anything that would seem more believable? They're not going to check with your parents hope this helps
