Discussion Neck padding

Is it worth padding your neck? I'm planning on carotid artery compression using the tourniquet method, with tights as a ligature. Not sure what to use to pad my neck though, if anything.

Yeah, and to hopefully lessen bruising. Not a dumb question at all lol :)

Yes I think it is important. Anything that can provide comfort makes CTB less painful.

My first thought (I know nothing though) is it might reduce the chance of success? Since it might be harder to get accurate enough compression? Or enough pressure?

Yeah if it's too thick it will, if it's thin enough it'll hopefully be less painful and leave less bruising

Are you going to ctb this saturday using tourniquet method? Any info regarding the tools you will be using?

I changed the date to Monday for personal reasons and more prep time, but yeah that's my method. Going to use a pair of tights, not sure on what I'll use to keep the knot tied but I'm going to test different things when I practice tying the knots. Probably going to use a spoon or pen though

I have read a square knot can be used.

That's the one I'm planning on, just want to practice and make sure I don't do a granny knot instead on the actual attempt
