I just want to vent to someone who is not going to tell me all things I am doing wrong and how I have fucked up my life. I just want to cry myself to sleep tonight.

I have PTSD, severe anxiety, depression, and undiagnosed ADHD. My mental health has worsened since covid, and last one year my mental health has progressively declined. I started to feel the effects on my physical health a couple of months ago. I love running and used to run 5 miles every day, and I have always been conscious about my diet (I have PCOS because of which I started running and looking after my diet). Recently, I realized I was losing my stamina to run, I couldn't even run 1 mile without running out of breath and feeling extremely tired. I don't even have the stamina to work, my brain fog sets in after 30 minutes of concentration. Plus, I noticed I had started to develop sensitivity to everyday sounds (my ears would throb and hurt).
So today I found out that I have high cholesterol, hyperacusis, and high cortisol levels. None of these diseases run in my family and I follow a healthy diet and exercise routine. I will turn 29 on Saturday. And I am developing all these physical health issues because of my stress and worsened mental health. Oh and I forgot to add, I have gained 15 pounds since covid started with no change in my diet or exercise routine - simply because high cortisol + pcos has become a recipe of disaster for me.

I called my parents today to talk about this, and all I heard was all the things I am doing wrong, how my stress and bad mental health is all my fault, and I need to take immediate steps to work on it.

I am sorry if this post is incoherent. I just needed to vent somewhere I won't be judged or told everything that has happened to me is my fault.

Are you taking any medications? Lots of times the medications are the culprits, and the doctors don't even think to consider that. It's frustrating. But, no... I don't think this is your fault.

No, I have taken different anti depressants and anti anxiety medications in the past but I stopped that sometime back.

So the high cortisol is at least part of the cause of the high cholesterol. Did they tell you that? And I'm thinking the high cortisol can be part of PCOS? High cortisol also makes for muscle wasting (tiredness) and overall weight gain (fat). And PCOS is not your fault!!!!

Thanks Cathy! No they didn't tell me that. The doctor just emailed me my reports today and mentioned how most of it seemed to be related to my mental health too. He wants me to focus on exercise, diet and finding a psychologist.
I will have a follow up with him and discuss more in person.

Please note, I am not a medical doctor and I am not giving medical advice.... My unfortunate experience has been that the medical professionals prefer to blame any and everything on people's diagnosed mental health problems, and they like to blame high cholesterol on diet when other causes are much more likely. Please do everything possible to advocate for yourself. If need be, and if you can afford it, seek out a doctor who specializes in PCOS. That's crazy that your family was blaming you. Do what you can to take care of yourself (diet, exercise, "something" to help with stress) and give yourself a break. You're doing great. You went to the doctor and have some test results. That's step 1.

This really aggravates me because your PHYSICAL health affects your mental health, too. It is circular. It doesn't flow in only one direction.

Seriously wishing you all of the best!

Sometimes we all need to vent to an accepting ear. Totally relate. When things are at the worst and you tuen to someone for support, the absolute worst thing they can do is offer canned platitudes or give you advice on how they think you should shake yourself out of it. Tbough it's sometimes true and needed tough love for some, there's a time and place for it. Sometimes it's helpful to just be accepting and acknowledging. I'd kill for a bit of that after the last couple of years. Feeling your pain OP. Acknowledging it too. : )

Also fuck drs foe piling things on mental health. They do to undiagnosed people too fwiw. It drives me insane. Talk about gasslighting!

That's why I never mention any mental health history with a doctor or specialist. And even go so far as to censor my medical records. Yes that's how bad the discrimination is. As soon as those labels leave your mouth, the Dr immediately stops doing their job and says 'you lack insight into your mental illness'. From that point on until they see an SSRI, AP, or mood stabilizer in the chart, they won't provide any other tests or scripts. Their thinking just stops.

Even if it is because of my mental health I am pissed because I feel like I have worked very hard on my body, and having a good mental health is not always in my control. Anyways, I appreciate you all ❤️!

Things can always improve. Maybe you can start walking at night or something. I think the hardest part is really the mental health.

I'm sorry that you are suffering. It sounds really awful what you are going through. It is horrifying how our bodies are capable of torturing us with so many health problems, this life is just so unfair. I wish you the best in whatever happens.

If u got reddit or can download it look up Covidvaccinated and vaccinelonghauler groups. People write posts about how they are doing after the vaccines. Many of them are suffering after and have similar things u are describing.
