• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Hi all. Long time lurker first time poster.
My downfall came from taking antidepressants because of work stress. Took Lexapro for a bit and became unable to sleep. Natural sleep and tiredness was gone, and also any ability to feel anything. Chemically induced anedonia.
Switched to mirtazapine just to be able to sleep but ended up with severe drowsiness.
Had a car accident and suffered a concussion. Since then been in chronic pain.
I feel my life was salvagable before the antidepressants but its too much to live without being able to feel anything on a chemical levels and being in constant pain.
Soon enough I will catch my bus.

I'm so deeply sorry you've went through all of that. Lexapro, while I know is a godsend to some, is an evil drug to me. It made me an zombie and it felt like years passed before the lasting effects of its use dissipated enough for it to not be hell to me and I was only it for maybe a full year only. I cant know exactly the pain it's caused you but fuck man I relate and I'm so sorry you're in lexapro hell.

I'm currently on antidepressants. For me it's a lose/lose situation. I was not coping without something. I was crying so much, like hysterical crying. I was struggling to sleep and my anxiety was through the roof. I totally agree though that antidepressants numb everything, so you are not actually happy but not feeling anything alot of the time. I hate that I kinda need them. I'm not having a good time on them but I was slightly worse off them šŸ˜”. With what you said about anedonia I totally get it. I'm so sorry that all this caused you to be in an accident and now has caused you more pain and suffering. I so hope you can get through this! I know constant pain can make a person go insane. I wish you all the best ā™„

Alcohol and (seperately) Benzodiazepines are the two most hellish drugs I know.

Alcohol will take all of your money from you, as you become accustomed to drinking more and more for the same relief.

Whilst suddenly stopping Benzos will cause the worst withdrawal symptoms, the worst depression you can imagine.

I blame both, in equal parts, just not at the same time.

It really sounds like you've suffered so much, it's so cruel and dreadful to me how there's all this suffering in existing. But anyway I wish you the best, I hope that you find peace.

I am very sorry that you had to go through this. I was prescribed about 10 different types of antidepressants and none of them worked however I still take 2 antidepressants and 2 antipsychotics. I feel horrible because of how many meds I have to take.

I feel the same. Im on antipsychotics and antidepressants. I'm never going to be able to come off due to severe side affects. It has affected me I'll likely never become a mother or have my own children I'm getting multiple health problems at a fast rate. There is nothing they can really do other then take me off which they don't want to do. At this point I feel like ctb is the only thing I can do.

Antidepressant medicine is way more dangerous than doctors let on. On the package inserts even the manufacturers say the "exact mechanism by which they work is not completely understood". If you're on them for a length of time it can take months or even a few years to restore brain function. Here's a link to a forum on how to taper off and recover from antidepressants if you care to explore.

i'm really sorry. seems like it's the people with the Rx drug injures that ctb consistently. those injuries are the worst suffering possible, i know. I hope you'll be alright. maybe you can still get better though with more time. many people do. but there are limits we all have. Good luck to you.
