• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

You should test one dose of the meto first. I had a very bad reaction.

What was the reaction if you don't mind me asking? Did you get sick?

Restlessness, pacing back and forth inside. I also had extreme discomfort or anxiety sometimes. I don't know what to call it. It stopped after about 6 hours.

Love your profile pic, @sleepy dog . Sorry to hear you had a bad reaction to meto. I had a similar reaction. For me it was probably a mixture of anxiety and a moderate interaction with the SSRI I'm on (damn, I wish I'd never started that damn SSRI, stopped working after a year, still can't withdraw after 5+ years on it). @HosenA10, you might want to check out the drugs.com drug interaction checker if you haven't already.

On a slightly off-topic note, how long does it take for your medication to leave your system? Like if I stopped taking mine today, how long would it take to leave my body completely

Depends on the drug's half-life (check wikipedia or similar). Please consult your GP if you plan on stopping any drugs that are physically addictive (SSRI's, benzo's, etc.).

They never warn you about how difficult it will be to go off any psych meds. They never warn you about the side effects either. They should be required to warn you. Instead, you get an insert with the meds and the writing is so small you need a high powered magnifying glass to read it.

I don't mean to oppose sleepydog's experience because its absolutely valid as we all will react to things differently. However, as someone who was also very worried about this due to my 15+ year chronic illness and being on many medications at the moment, I kept an eye on threads of people reporting their meto trial experiences. I would say the majority are fine, a few people will report some light nausea and dizziness that goes away. But then there are a few that have really bad reactions, esp increased anxiety. I don't know what the shared commonality is there, maybe some drug interaction, genetic predisposition, state of mind? No idea.

I tried 5 mgs first and got a tiny bit of dizziness for a few mins, which quickly went away. A few days later tried 10mg, and noticed nothing. So I guess I'm in the lucky group, but just wanted to ease your mind that you may be too. And I def agree, everyone should test it out beforehand due to these different results.

RE: drug tapering. - Yea, its a real pain in the ass. They had me on an antipsychotic, antidepressed, antiepileptic and antianxiety meds all at the same time bc I was told I was Bipolar.. took over a year of to wean off, doing it one drug at a time, b/c turns out I didn't have bipolar, just Lyme Disease. It was miserable.

I'm so sorry for your suffering. They had you on a LOT of meds at the same time. It makes me wonder if there any limit at all to how many meds they will put someone on. My husband passed away from cancer and, by the end of his life, he had 3 giant trays full of meds that he was supposed to be taking. It simply wasn't possible for one human being to take that many meds at once. And I had a nurse check them all because I knew there had to be meds that interacted with each other among all of them. It seemed to me that they were giving him new meds all the time without taking any old meds away.

That sounds horrible, like torture.

i get you completely, getting off benzos and other medications that interact wit gaba has been one of the hardest things that i've done in my life, by far one of my worst experiences and something that i'm still dealing with because i couldn't stop to take them completely.

but doctors just tell tou that you can easily get off them without much effort and addiction is very rare, fucking liars, some people experience withdrawal symptoms for years after stopping.
