I've been to a funeral where nobody even pretended to grieve, people mostly mingled and chatted about unrelated things and catching up. Then we went for dinner with champagne and stuff, almost like a celebration. Strange experience. I (obviously) knew the person who died but didn't really give a crap. Apparently everyone else felt the same, even the close relatives. There was a large list of invitees, too. Some people just don't leave an impression even if they're "loved" and "important" on paper.
