More effort

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be under here but I wish people could put more effort in responses to vents :*) half of the time all i see is "i understand im suffering too." boom thats it.

yes but it makes me frustrated when people ask for advice, ask for suicide methods, vents like a whole essay and somebody just comments "fr im suffering too" like gang did u even read it atp

Oh yeah I get what you mean now. I won't call anyone out but it's a bit obnoxious how certain users seem to copy+paste the same "this world is so cruel" type-message on every second post, obviously not really engaging with what someone actually said.

Sometimes I read some posts and I'm not really sure what to say except for I'm sorry that happened and I'm here if you'd like someone to listen. I can add some padding and make it sound nice but I can't relate to some of the issues and don't know how. What would you like in response to a vent?

I wish I could ask for feedback after every response lol

lol i feel u but sometimes they act like they dont care and they're self centered if that makes sense? like they dont care and they comment just to comment and talk about themselves

Yeah, I don't really know why that happens tbh. Maybe they're not self-aware? It implies a certain amount of thought about what the other person is feeling and how they'll respond to what you say. It also depends on what you prioritise, maybe responding that way is cathartic for you or you think the person is looking for this instead of something else. Idk.

You're right. People deserve articulate empathetic responses, especially in a community they've come to largely because of it's unique ability for true empathy on this topic. I'm going to try and do that more if and when I'm on here, because I've just come to realize how much that kind of response really makes my day better.
