Misanthropy is the general hatred, dislike, distrust or contempt of the human species or human nature. A misanthrope or misanthropist is someone who holds such views or feelings.

It seems impossible to live effectivey while holding such a view, since life forces us into contact with them. Certain people are able to live a life of solitude, but not necessarily with misanthropy.. The longer it goes on and the more i study people as they interact with each other, in group or singularly, the more i lack faith in their motives as being positive and altruistic.
I'm not the first person to recognise this, but the thing is how do you live with it. The solution seems to live in the capacity to be all things to all men, and thus lose your integrity. Or somehow surround yourself with decent, honest people, which is quite hard, even if you go to live in a monastary.
I despise human nature not because sarte said 'hell is other people', what he meant was that they judge us in ways that fail to conform to our own self impression ans somehow negate us.
No doubt the spiritual way forward would be to embrace all humanity as if they were your family.
How do other people deal with this issue...i'm at the point where i trust perhaps two people, both of who live in a foreign country. Out of the fifty or so others i know, i wouldn't trust them as far as i could throw them.
