• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

i cant be the only one that feels like the world is moving backwards. there is so much negativity and bigotry.

maybe theres some truth to all of this. is it really that revolting to be a black male and to like the same gender. i don't understand whats so funny about me but i know that im the butt of the joke and it always hurts to be, and i have to just let it happen because it's not that deep.

is it silly that this is one of the main reasons i don't care to be here anymore, nobody could love me like how i am now, i can't even feel like i love myself anymore either, so i can't blame them.

It's not revolting. It's not moving backwards. It was always bad, and it will always be, I guess.

There is nothing wrong with being a black man who is into other men. I'm sorry that people keep on making you the butt of their jokes. You are allowed to be upset with them, even if they try to claim that "it's not that deep" because it is that deep. What they are doing is wrong and it being a "joke" doesn't make a difference. By making your race and sexual identity the butt of their jokes they are essentially implying that there is something wrong with those things and are punching down. There's nothing funny about it.

something i've learned for myself as a queer person is that, if it's just a joke and not that deep, then they shouldn't be upset if you don't like the joke.

we can all find a joke unfunny. everyone has different senses of humor. it should NEVER cause some sort of upset or dismissive reaction from the person making the joke. if you stating that the joke wasn't funny and that it hurt you has any reaction except "right, noted, my bad" - then it wasn't a joke, it was a veiled opinion. fuck those people. distance yourself from them as much as you can.

It's not revolting at all.
One question is: Is it them saying that it's not that deep or you saying it to yourself to brush it off? Or what society says?

In either cases, it is 'that deep' if it bugs you.
And it's okay for it to be 'that deep', you shouldn't ever have to feel ashamed of yourself or hate yourself because of tasteless jokes. Self-identity is inherently a deep topic for all people and it's okay. Tell them to stop, you don't have to let this happen to you.

Take care.
(If any of this was unclear then I apologize)

There's nothing disgusting about the way you were born. Those "jokes" are just a pathetic attempt by the people who make them to feel superior. They can't feel good about themselves on their own merits, so the closest thing they've got is to try to tear down others. Unfortunately people like this seem to be getting bolder and louder. I'm sorry you've had to deal with it.

Neither are 'disgusting' or 'backward' traits. We're a backward society if we can't accept people for how they are born.

I shall quote Dr Seuss again:

'Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.'
