  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at admin@sanctioned-suicide.net.

I would never get the courage to ctb by jumping. There should be euthanasia and society should allow us a peaceful exit at a time of our own choosing, nobody should have to resort to methods that could fail.

In a sane and just society, no one should have to resort to such barbaric measures to escape this clown world. Poor guy will probably be in pain for the rest of his life. It was very sad to see him writhing on the ground like that.
I hope he finds SS and and discovers a more peaceful solution.

Holy cow I live at 9th floor and thought many, many times about jumping. Now that I see this and considering the luck I had overall in my life I'm gonna exclude jumping from the list.

I'm really sorry for that man. Fuck this world.

The article says every person who had recently fallen from that height has died. Still, I wouldn't jump myself unless it was 500+ feet high

That is ouchie but his survival is explainable I think.

Had he fallen into the road then it most likely would have killed him as 23 meters offers a 90% fatality rate but in this case, him hitting the BMW looked to have "cushioned" his fall.

The roof of the car caved in but in doing so it would have slowed his momentum down and he would have crashed into the cars seats which are cushioned. The cars shock absorbers would have also played a part.

If you're gonna jump, make sure you hit something that doesn't give way.

Seriously, not only is it traumatic to go through this and survive, but given that he did survive, eventually people are gonna put two and two together what his identity is, since it's now all over the internet. It'll follow him around for the rest of his life, all for some ad revenue. So unprofessional by all these "news" outlets, and again so sad for that guy.

The police said he is extremely lucky to survive the fall.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the man did not belong to the building and it wasn't clear what he was doing there.
The police are fucking idiots. 'it wasn't clear what he was doing there'. Duuh why would someone go up nine stories and jump off a building. Wow he survived and is simply in enormous pain (in addition to the pain that brought him to jump) so brilliantly lucky.

This is so sad, i can't imagine how he must feel. That's why jumping for me it's not an option anymore, too much risk of failing.

That's why I keep saying you need to put a land mine where you fall if you jump, as a contingency measure.

A former colleague of a friend of mine jumped from the sixth floor while in a party and survived because he hit trees.

The people from the party took him over again to the apartment to wait for ambulance, and locked him on the bathroom, because he was very erratic and wanted to jump in front of cars...

He managed to open the tiny window from the bathroom and jumped again, this time managing to ctb.

My current favored method is doing this from an airplane (too flimsy for space travel unfortunately, even if I could probably afford it down the road). A bridge or a low-rise building isn't going to cut it. These jumers need to be more ambitious.
