A guy survived from jumping from the Golden bridge in San Fran, he survived and now he's making lots of money because of that. It's sad when someone tries to cash in on depression. I lost all respect I had from him since he went on oh pay me to watch my real life documentary.

Maybe he was handed a gift in a sense. He has a way to earn money. He has something to do now besides being depressed. He took a lemon (surviving) and made lemonade.

I thought you need 100 m to solid hard ground so why is it a surprise? Even then I wouldn't take any risks. Jumping and shooting too risky to survive

That's what stresses me out the most. The risk of failure, that's mostly why I am here

I'd definitely never opt for a 40m drop in to water instead of a 40m drop on to concrete. As hard as the surface of the water can be at that speed, nobody bounces off water.

Jumping is unreliable people have fell 20ft (6.96m) and died and people have fallen 1000 feet (304m) and survived, both links below.

Yeah 40m is nothing into water that's like professional high diver stuff.

The bridge in my city is 48m and I knew it wouldn't kill me so I didn't jump.

I was once standing over a canyon and asked him how high it was. He said 60m. If it had been 100, I would have walked a little way away and jumped there and then.

Wow, my biggest jump was 10m into waters :-D
(not for a suicide attempt)

That's why I would never consider jumping: Even at higher heights and on conrete - you never know how long your body and most importantly brain, will survive after the impact and how long you might suffer even if death would be sure after some while.

I watch that documentary on YouTube "the bridge" crazy how he survived, but I agree to then go on to make money and in the interview it seemed to me that he was making out that if others who jumped had survived then their lives would be like his is now, which isn't the case in some, my life is worse now then my last suicide attempt.

They recommend 250ft at least. As anything below is likely to not work.

Jumping off a bridge into water is too unreliable. I did this twice, with the last time being a 100 foot drop. I just ended up with numerous fractures, a TBI, among other injuries. I was in the hospital and then psych for a month.

I would not recommend. It was too impulsive in hindsight. I'm lucky I wasn't paralyzed after surviving. You would think that I would've learned after the first time, but shit happens.

Jumping onto solid ground is a better option if you have to choose between the two.

This is the only guarenteed way to CTB jumping into water, mind you if you jump anywhere else in the park you will end up a tasty snack.

Depends how you fall. The how you land is a more important factor than the height when talking about above 20 meters. If you nose dive land, surviving is impossible, youll die from a broken neck. The problem is most suicidal people aren't professional divers.

what about 341ft onto rocks/very very shallow water, i wonder what chances would be then.

I think you would CTB from that height and onto a hard surface if the water is shallow people have descussed about jumping head first but it's not guarenteed as the wind and your balance may effect your landing.
