• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

My top priority is minimizing long-term consequences if I do fail an attempt. Success rate and short-term harm really isn't relevant to me so long as the method is viable and "safe." With that in mind, what method has the lowest risk of long-term injury (especially, but not limited to, brain damage)? Obviously suicide is dangerous and there's always going to be a good amount of risk when attempting. I know there isn't going to be a completely safe method or even a relatively safe one. I'm just looking for the method with the least possibility of long-term damage.

I assume SN? I don't really know much about it, but it's a very popular "peaceful" method on the forum.

Apparently SN has low reported risks. Not sure though.

Another one, but extremely unlikely to happen, is commotio cordis. Risks of long-term damage are somewhat low. I've been trying to replicate it but it requires good luck. I don't recommend it and I don't there has been a single case of ctb with this.

You can find some information in this table:
https://lostallhope.com/suicide-methods/statistics-most-lethal-methods/
It lists methods and has a column of lethality that may be the closest to the definition of safety.
Though it doesn't include SN and Inert gas +Exit bag methods that are probably the safest methods.
For those methods you can see in the PPH book. There is a table for each method and SN and Inert gas get 5/5 for safety.

Do you have any resources on commotio cordis? I actually haven't heard of it before.
