If rope broke during long jump from high place, would someone be decapitated anyway? I believe even when breaking happened it would be caused by force from falling body so decapitation would happen in the same second as well.
Can rope somehow break in a way a person just fall on the ground as if there wasn't any rope? or it always create minimal force which would lead to at least snapping spinal cord and then certain death after 15-60 minutes even being already on the ground?
It seems like 100% success rate method if the latter is true but maybe i don't well understand physics laws.

The rope could break and then you could likely not ctb, or you could break your neck and end up paralyzed from the neck down. Long drop is designed for an executioner in a situation where the floor drops out, it is not a method that can work reliably for ctb.

I know rope could break and because of that i posted that thread to discuss above mentioned options if that happened. Whether it still cause decapitation or not. And breaking neck isn't bad i think because in that cause it would be so severe you won't be able to breath and just suffocate unconciously without help of noose.

Not all the time I think you can think of putting a long piece of thread around your neck the thread still breaks but doesn't decapitate. If the rope needs some force to break and it can cut through the neck then it may but the thing is if the role is that strong it wouldn't even break if it is possible for it to go through the neck and why would it even break if it can go through it. I can think of these only. I don't know if the rope is just strong enough for a jerk or snapping on reaching the end I don't know what would happen in that case but it should just go through the neck and snap later or not even snap.

It takes a lot of force to go through the spinal cord. If you've ever seen a ritual decapitation by an inexperienced person, you normally see the surprise in how long it takes to get through it. Most times in the middle east when they decapitate enemies they settle for partial decapitation rather than fighting with the spinal cord.

A partial decapitation is your worst case scenario. Your brain will theoretically be unaware after some time, but I've seen some questionable times, and I've learned some things about the process of brain death that make me question it
My bad I didn't mean to necro bump, I'm not sure how I got to this thread šŸ¤·šŸæ

What's the likelihood of decapitation is someone does a long drop hanging of 11feet and they weigh 190 pounds.
