I'm having a hard time deciding on a location. Part of me wants it to be someplace special. But I worry about making a mess at someplace nice, and ruining that place for other people because of it. Then I think of being completely practical, and doing it someplace with the least amount of impact. Like nearby the corner's office, but in a spot without a lot of significance to others, like the woods off the corner's parking lot. Then there's even a filming location a couple hours away were one of my favorite movies was filmed, and deaths of characters in certain spots. But, I'm not one to look for attention, and that might bring just that. Also, I don't want to ruin it for other people. Though some people, given that it's a horror movie, might dig it. Then there's disappearing. Going someplace very deep in the wood undetected, and just vanishing. But I worry the family I care about some will be hurt not knowing what happened to me, and also I don't want to be investigated. Like my digital footprint gone over looking for clues. I'll get rid of all my devices, and destroy all my hard-drives. But if I'm a missing person they might get my browser history from my ISP. Does my family need to know what kind of porn I like?? I don't know. I guess it doesn't matter to me when I'm gone. But I don't want to be "gone over" once I'm gone. I just want to be forgotten as soon as possible. What factors do you guys use to decide?

i really dont care, the only thing that is important, is that it will succeed, and that the police will not stop me.

I've narrowed it down to a nice, secluded spot in a park/nature preserve with a good view and an luxury hotel room, on the balcony (also with a pretty view). Going on the balcony would minimize disruption and damage to the room, so I can live with that... to borrow a somewhat ironic phrase, given the circumstances.

I figure I need some place at least somewhat public so my body can be located by first responders (minimizing the chance of traumatizing some random civilian), but private enough to get done what I need to do. That way, a death certificate can be issued expediently, and my loved ones won't be left in the hell of not knowing, so they can grieve, get my estate disbursed and move on with their lives.

I also considered blowing my brains out (or exit bagging or ligature strangulation or partial hanging) at night in front of a police station or courthouse or other public building, but I think the risk of being "saved" is too high - some homeless person might come across me in time to call for help, public buildings have security cameras and guards, if not a police officer 24/7, etc., so I figure, best case with a GSW to the head, they won't be able to save me, but they'll find me quick enough to load me into an ambulance and charge my estate for the ride and medical care.

I'm not so worried about "ruining it" for other people, although that's part of the reason I'm not doing anything splashy on or near private property (figure a mangled corpse next to some private building's gonna be bad for business, at a minimum). You have to figure that if you go when no one's around, and first responders find you, they'll have your body out of there and the scene mostly cleaned up before anyone knows, and things generally aren't "ruined" for random folks just because someone died there, even if they do find out somehow - think about all the suicides off of tourist attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge, but it's still a place many people visit and enjoy. That being said, I'm avoiding places in my general neighborhood, places my loved ones visit or travel past and the like, as I figure that might hurt them if they have to drive by or visit the spot where I died on a regular basis.

I agree with this more now that I think back on a personal experience. They tore down some buildings in the city I live in, and built a brand new parking structure. It's like four tiers high, off the ground level. Not too high. But, shortly after they opened it, I was walking by it and there were emergency people gathered around a taped off area on the sidewalk next to it on the street level outside. I asked a guy standing around what happened, and he said a homeless guy killed himself by jumping off the top. It happened, but I don't know of any fuss about it. When I got there the body was gone, and if you weren't there, and few were, or you didn't read about it, you probably don't even know it happened even if you live here, and probably don't remember it if you did hear about it. I walk on the spot the guy landed quite often, and it doesn't give me chills or anything. I didn't see the body. Maybe that would be different. But...cleaned up, and back to buisness.

This is actually harder than most people first think. I want to do it at home but that will cause a plethora of problems for my partner and family.
I like the 'idea' of disappearing but again that causes so many problems.
When I was irrational and super low the other day, I just took the rope down to the river I used to play at as a kid and was going to just crack on there and then, not giving a fuck.
I think in the end we might not get to choose when the darkness falls and we may end up just being happy to drop.

I'll rent a cabin in the mountains not far from where I Iive, it's part of a hotel complex but very isolated
I'll write an email with everything inside, suicide note, funeral arrangements etc, it will be sent 12h after my death
I'll leave some money on the table for the trouble

laptop and phone will be cleaned, I'll leave just enough unimportant things to not arouse suspicion
