Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I'm in the US. A quick internet search leads me to believe my chances of getting a life insurance plan with suicide coverage that would activate within the next two to three years are about zero.

Does anyone know anything that contradicts that? My understanding used to be that if you have enough money, you can essentially insure anything, but I'm not seeing that here.

Knowing my survivors would get a payout would really ease the guilt I have.

Generally they payout after 2 years. As far as insuring anything , it's an event that you control. So you could get the policy and then the next day CTB.

F yeah. What's up with the 2-year wait if they're gonna cover it in any event?

Pretty much the same reasoning as to why they don't want to insure you if you have a terminal disease. They don't want you paying a minimal amount to insure yourself for a huge payout when you know you are probably going to die very soon. Taking emotions aside, it isn't smart for them to insure something that they know is about to go.

They inspect homes and properties before insuring for the same reason... Frankly I'm surprised any insurance covers a suicide at all. You can't, for instance, insure your home and then light it on fire purposefully and then make a claim for the loss of property that you destroyed yourself. I'm kind of amazed that they would insure suicide for any price.
