Does anyone know where I could find information on what a lethal dosage of lithium would be?

I'm looking for this info too! I'm having a hard time finding out much about it anywhere.

It'd have to be greater than 1200mg>, sense that's the highest daily dose prescribed. Not sure exactly though.

From a quick look in toxicology text book, lithium (as in the medication) is around 10mg/kgs. It's a rather unclear tho if it could cause death.

Sorry I could not be more helpful.

Friends , you will benefit a lot from using the search option here

Instead of reinventing the wheel , being worried about what's right , etc , there's a lot of information in previous threads

Just in case you don't find my responses in the threads above, here we go again:

Most lithium ODs are in people who take too high a dosage over time as part of their regular drug regimen. It's tough to make it lethal all in one go.

Your best bet if you want to go over time is to make sure that your doc does not order regular blood tests and see your level going up.

It will be uncomfortable or painful, though, as you're basically poisoning your kidneys and other organs over time.

When lithium toxicity hits, it's pretty awful. The symptoms aren't pleasant. Speaking from experience. I was caught in early stages, so I know it gets worse than I felt, but I'd never intentionally do that to myself because I was pretty sick.

I was in contact with someone who tried this when they tried it. It's extremely painful and very unlikely to work. The person went to the hospital because the pain was too much to bear.

Looks like I'll be abandoning this idea. Thanks for the info, everyone!
